The Silver Whistle Cast Announced The Silver Whistle by Robert McEnroe follows Wilfred Tasbinder (Marty Williams) a romantically minded tramp who finds a birth certificate for Oliver Erwenter indicating that its owner is 77 years old Wilfred decides to impersonate Erwenter and enter a home for the aged Erwenter rejuvenates the lives of the residents in many
ways and helps the homersquos director Miss Tripp (Angie Allen) discover the true meaning of passion All goes well until Wilfredrsquos tramp companion Emmett (Dennis Clark) appears on the scene causing havoc for all involved Portraying the residents of the home are Jim Toth (Mr Beebe) Bob Huber (Mr Cherry) Shirley Nebergall (Mrs Hamner) Linda England (Miss Hoadley) Cathy Williams (Mrs Sampler) and Barb Pace (Mrs Gross) The Reverend Watson will be played by John Garner and Jim Foust will portray the Bishop Rounding out this cast are the residents of the town Mrs Reedy (Carol Clark) Mr Beach (Bob Henry) Father Shay (J Ladd) and Brad Garner as the policeman The Silver Whistle will run August 16-19 and 23-25 at the playhouse Tickets will go on sale to Benefactors on July 30 to Angels on July 31 and to Patrons and Single Patrons on August 1 Tickets for the general public will begin on August 6 Tickets may be purchased through the Arts Partnership box office 419-422-4624 The Silver Whistle is produced in arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc
Auditions Announced for A Streetcar Named Desire By James Toth The foundation of American theater is a triangle At the points of the triangle are three plays These three plays are considered to be the greatest American plays ever written They are Thornton Wilders Our Town Arthur Millerrsquos Death of a Salesman and the third in the trilogy is Tennessee Williamsrsquo classic drama A Streetcar Named Desire The Fort Findlay Playhouse is proud and excited to announce auditions for a revival of this great and tragic slice-of-life play It is a passionate and sometimes brutal depiction of life in the sweltering heat of 1940s New Orleans Itrsquos a story of violence and love which centers on one Blanche Dubois She is the older sister of Stella Kowalski and she has come for an unexpected visit with Stella and her animalistic husband Stanley As the tension mounts the inevitable clash of Blanche and Stanley builds to one of the most memorable scenes in theater history The auditions are being held on Sunday August 26 and Monday August 27 at 730 pm each evening There are roles available for five women five men and one teenage boy Directed by Jim Toth and produced by Deb Finley A Streetcar Named Desire will run October 4-7 amp 11-13

Ohio Community Theatre Association NW Regional Festival By James Toth FFP OCTA Delegate On June 9 twenty Fort Findlay Playhouse members made the long trek to Bellevue Ohio to attend the two-day 2012 Northwest Region OCTAFest Eleven theaters from the OCTA Northwest region performed excerpts from their past season to determine which theaters would represent the NW Region at the State Conference on Labor Day weekend While the weather outside was hot the competition on stage proved even hotter as once again it was proven that community theater is alive and well Our excerpt was The Dixie Swim Club with Kedryn Carpenter Pat Courtney Lori Foster Julie Lane and Jan Miller While we were not selected to advance to the state festival we did quite well and the ladies received a coveted ensemble acting award and Jan Miller received a Merit in Acting award The excerpts selected to present at the state level were 3Bs production of Rent Ritz Players of Tiffins production of Doubt a Parable and Souvenir from Fort Defiance Players The alternate to state is Fremont Community Theatrersquos production of Out of Sterno All in all the caliber of excerpts were of high quality and all in attendance enjoyed the performances A special thank you must be extended to Kyle Slagley who organized the excellent crew and to all those FFP members who pitched in to help for the excerpt It was wonderful to see all our members just pitch in and help This is truly what community theater is all about There were over 120 people registered to attend the weekend festivities In addition to the Dixie Swim Club cast those attending included the crew which consisted of Kyle Slagley Barb Pace Alicia Creger Deb Finley Bill Rayle and George Rustemeyer Also in attendance were Jim and Linda Toth JR Smith Wes Taylor Laurie Dye Cathy and Marty Williams Michael Courtney and Shirley Nebergall

Chicago Theater Festival Announced
The first annual A Taste of Theater festival will be October 12-13 2012 at the Portage Theater in Portage Park Chicago Illinois This After Work Program is a theater
experience to expose educate and entertain a diverse audience of professional intermediate and novice playwrights thespians and production staff members A Taste of Theater Festival is two full days of education and entertainment Daytime classes for participants include topics regarding scripts staging actors costumes funding and promotion Expert panelists share their knowledge and experiences with theater production enthusiasts Evening performances showcase playwrights from around the country The general public will vote on the plays with the winner receiving the Shelly Garrett Award an opportunity to work with him and have their play produced in the city where they received the most votes Registration to the festival includes a seat at these performances Additional tickets are available to the general public for sale For those who want to participate in this festival but donrsquot wish to travel to Chicago the event will be webcasted Visit ATasteOfTheatercom for more information on the festival including schedules cost and registration

Ohio Community Theatre Association NW Regional Festival By James Toth FFP OCTA Delegate On June 9 twenty Fort Findlay Playhouse members made the long trek to Bellevue Ohio to attend the two-day 2012 Northwest Region OCTAFest Eleven theaters from the OCTA Northwest region performed excerpts from their past season to determine which theaters would represent the NW Region at the State Conference on Labor Day weekend While the weather outside was hot the competition on stage proved even hotter as once again it was proven that community theater is alive and well Our excerpt was The Dixie Swim Club with Kedryn Carpenter Pat Courtney Lori Foster Julie Lane and Jan Miller While we were not selected to advance to the state festival we did quite well and the ladies received a coveted ensemble acting award and Jan Miller received a Merit in Acting award The excerpts selected to present at the state level were 3Bs production of Rent Ritz Players of Tiffins production of Doubt a Parable and Souvenir from Fort Defiance Players The alternate to state is Fremont Community Theatrersquos production of Out of Sterno All in all the caliber of excerpts were of high quality and all in attendance enjoyed the performances A special thank you must be extended to Kyle Slagley who organized the excellent crew and to all those FFP members who pitched in to help for the excerpt It was wonderful to see all our members just pitch in and help This is truly what community theater is all about There were over 120 people registered to attend the weekend festivities In addition to the Dixie Swim Club cast those attending included the crew which consisted of Kyle Slagley Barb Pace Alicia Creger Deb Finley Bill Rayle and George Rustemeyer Also in attendance were Jim and Linda Toth JR Smith Wes Taylor Laurie Dye Cathy and Marty Williams Michael Courtney and Shirley Nebergall

Chicago Theater Festival Announced
The first annual A Taste of Theater festival will be October 12-13 2012 at the Portage Theater in Portage Park Chicago Illinois This After Work Program is a theater
experience to expose educate and entertain a diverse audience of professional intermediate and novice playwrights thespians and production staff members A Taste of Theater Festival is two full days of education and entertainment Daytime classes for participants include topics regarding scripts staging actors costumes funding and promotion Expert panelists share their knowledge and experiences with theater production enthusiasts Evening performances showcase playwrights from around the country The general public will vote on the plays with the winner receiving the Shelly Garrett Award an opportunity to work with him and have their play produced in the city where they received the most votes Registration to the festival includes a seat at these performances Additional tickets are available to the general public for sale For those who want to participate in this festival but donrsquot wish to travel to Chicago the event will be webcasted Visit ATasteOfTheatercom for more information on the festival including schedules cost and registration

Ohio Community Theatre Associationrsquos State Conference Coming Soon Deadline for pre-registration is just around the corner for this yearrsquos conference to be held in Columbus over Labor Day weekend For the

Ohio Community Theatre Association NW Regional Festival By James Toth FFP OCTA Delegate On June 9 twenty Fort Findlay Playhouse members made the long trek to Bellevue Ohio to attend the two-day 2012 Northwest Region OCTAFest Eleven theaters from the OCTA Northwest region performed excerpts from their past season to determine which theaters would represent the NW Region at the State Conference on Labor Day weekend While the weather outside was hot the competition on stage proved even hotter as once again it was proven that community theater is alive and well Our excerpt was The Dixie Swim Club with Kedryn Carpenter Pat Courtney Lori Foster Julie Lane and Jan Miller While we were not selected to advance to the state festival we did quite well and the ladies received a coveted ensemble acting award and Jan Miller received a Merit in Acting award The excerpts selected to present at the state level were 3Bs production of Rent Ritz Players of Tiffins production of Doubt a Parable and Souvenir from Fort Defiance Players The alternate to state is Fremont Community Theatrersquos production of Out of Sterno All in all the caliber of excerpts were of high quality and all in attendance enjoyed the performances A special thank you must be extended to Kyle Slagley who organized the excellent crew and to all those FFP members who pitched in to help for the excerpt It was wonderful to see all our members just pitch in and help This is truly what community theater is all about There were over 120 people registered to attend the weekend festivities In addition to the Dixie Swim Club cast those attending included the crew which consisted of Kyle Slagley Barb Pace Alicia Creger Deb Finley Bill Rayle and George Rustemeyer Also in attendance were Jim and Linda Toth JR Smith Wes Taylor Laurie Dye Cathy and Marty Williams Michael Courtney and Shirley Nebergall

Chicago Theater Festival Announced
The first annual A Taste of Theater festival will be October 12-13 2012 at the Portage Theater in Portage Park Chicago Illinois This After Work Program is a theater
experience to expose educate and entertain a diverse audience of professional intermediate and novice playwrights thespians and production staff members A Taste of Theater Festival is two full days of education and entertainment Daytime classes for participants include topics regarding scripts staging actors costumes funding and promotion Expert panelists share their knowledge and experiences with theater production enthusiasts Evening performances showcase playwrights from around the country The general public will vote on the plays with the winner receiving the Shelly Garrett Award an opportunity to work with him and have their play produced in the city where they received the most votes Registration to the festival includes a seat at these performances Additional tickets are available to the general public for sale For those who want to participate in this festival but donrsquot wish to travel to Chicago the event will be webcasted Visit ATasteOfTheatercom for more information on the festival including schedules cost and registration

Ohio Community Theatre Associationrsquos State Conference Coming Soon Deadline for pre-registration is just around the corner for this yearrsquos conference to be held in Columbus over Labor Day weekend For the

Ohio Community Theatre Association NW Regional Festival By James Toth FFP OCTA Delegate On June 9 twenty Fort Findlay Playhouse members made the long trek to Bellevue Ohio to attend the two-day 2012 Northwest Region OCTAFest Eleven theaters from the OCTA Northwest region performed excerpts from their past season to determine which theaters would represent the NW Region at the State Conference on Labor Day weekend While the weather outside was hot the competition on stage proved even hotter as once again it was proven that community theater is alive and well Our excerpt was The Dixie Swim Club with Kedryn Carpenter Pat Courtney Lori Foster Julie Lane and Jan Miller While we were not selected to advance to the state festival we did quite well and the ladies received a coveted ensemble acting award and Jan Miller received a Merit in Acting award The excerpts selected to present at the state level were 3Bs production of Rent Ritz Players of Tiffins production of Doubt a Parable and Souvenir from Fort Defiance Players The alternate to state is Fremont Community Theatrersquos production of Out of Sterno All in all the caliber of excerpts were of high quality and all in attendance enjoyed the performances A special thank you must be extended to Kyle Slagley who organized the excellent crew and to all those FFP members who pitched in to help for the excerpt It was wonderful to see all our members just pitch in and help This is truly what community theater is all about There were over 120 people registered to attend the weekend festivities In addition to the Dixie Swim Club cast those attending included the crew which consisted of Kyle Slagley Barb Pace Alicia Creger Deb Finley Bill Rayle and George Rustemeyer Also in attendance were Jim and Linda Toth JR Smith Wes Taylor Laurie Dye Cathy and Marty Williams Michael Courtney and Shirley Nebergall

The first annual A Taste of Theater festival will be October 12-13 2012 at the Portage Theater in Portage Park Chicago Illinois This After Work Program is a theater
experience to expose educate and entertain a diverse audience of professional intermediate and novice playwrights thespians and production staff members A Taste of Theater Festival is two full days of education and entertainment Daytime classes for participants include topics regarding scripts staging actors costumes funding and promotion Expert panelists share their knowledge and experiences with theater production enthusiasts Evening performances showcase playwrights from around the country The general public will vote on the plays with the winner receiving the Shelly Garrett Award an opportunity to work with him and have their play produced in the city where they received the most votes Registration to the festival includes a seat at these performances Additional tickets are available to the general public for sale For those who want to participate in this festival but donrsquot wish to travel to Chicago the event will be webcasted Visit ATasteOfTheatercom for more information on the festival including schedules cost and registration

Ohio Community Theatre Associationrsquos State Conference Coming Soon Deadline for pre-registration is just around the corner for this yearrsquos conference to be held in Columbus over Labor Day weekend For the
