Romans 1:24-27

• 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

• 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

• You are what God made you!– God made us with different roles, that we ought to fulfill– 1 Cor. 12– Rom. 12– 1 Cor. 9:19-23

Worldly Agenda:

• Phrases that can be misleading:– “Best the best you”– “Just be yourself”– “You can be whatever you want to be”

• Better phrases:– “Be holy as God is holy” (1 Pet. 1:16)– “Be like Christ” (1 John 2:6; 1 Cor. 11:1)– “Be what God wants you to be”

Are we true to our identity?

• People are trying to change their identity:– White to black– Boy to girl– Marriage between man and woman to man and

man/ woman and woman• Do we do the same with our service to God– Singing to playing– Worshipping to entertaining ourselves– Serving other or coming to be served
