BUILDING PLANNING CAPACITYHosting an Associate is an opportunity to build and diversify skills and build capacity within your organisatio. Preference will be given to placements that offer genuine additionality over existing roles or vacancies – although we will consider all types of roles. Please tell us how the placement will help build your organisation’s capacity for proactive planning, support new ways of working, or enable strategic place-based coordination.

DELIVERING THE PLACEMENT Funding and approvals for placements do not need to be confirmed at Expression of Interest stage. However, we are more likely to be able to offer placements to Authorities that can demonstrate greater levels of certainty over funding, approvals, senior level buy-in and HR support.

ELIGIBILITY We ask that Authorities understand and agree to our eligibility criteria before we offer placements. Please tick the boxes below to confirm you agree to each of the following:

Public Practice involves shortlisted Authorities in the assessment of potential Associates. You, or the line manager named on this form, will be expected to participate as an assessor in a day long placement workshop on either 1, 2, 3, or 4 July 2019. Please confirm you are able to attend one of these dates.

Authorities will have the opportunity to meet potential Associates and express preferences over the Associate they would like to fill the placement role. However, Public Practice will make the final recommendation on the selection and placement of Associates. Authorities have the right to accept or decline recommendations.

The contractual start date for placements is 1 October 2019.

Associates will attend an induction training course on the week commencing 31 September 2019. Associates will join Authorities from 4 October 2019.

Whilst on placement, Associates will be required to attend the Public Practice Research & Development Programme within their contracted hours.

Each R&D day is hosted by an Authority on the Placement Programme. Please confirm you are able to provide a venue to host up to 30 Associates for one day.

Authorities are required to pay a placement fee to Public Practice when an Associate is placed with them. The placement fee is £5000 (+VAT) for 12 month placements and £7000 (+VAT) for 18 month placements.
