Asian characters and Ethernetupload/download. In addition,access to recipe data, alarms,event list and trend buffershas been extended. Withenhanced languagemanagement, 64K colors onTFT displays, auto executionof macro commands onpower-up and optional videoinput module, Designer meetsthe need of the mostdemanding HMI applications

in industrial and buildingautomation. Detailed projectdocumentation is provided bythe extended printoutfunctions, with cross-referencing. With a singleprogramming tool for allUniOP panels, including textdisplays, graphic screens,

handheld or touch panels, andthe availability of more than200 drivers, Designer givesyou the tools necessary for allyour HMI needs. The easy touse and intuitive interface willhelp you create screens thatprovide your operators withthe information that theyneed, in real time, to managethe process.

Designer 6 Highlights

Designer offers options in thedisplay of numeric data withleading zero and masked dataentry mode (password-like).Dynamic visibility control, toshow or hide all objects in theproject based on a PLC value,along with recipe configuration,with virtually no limit to thenumber of recipe sets anditems, are also standard.Internal memory buffer is availa-ble and can be used for recipename for controllers without

ASCII support. Alarms presen-tation include priority-based ortime-based strategies.

C-Series eTOP

The eTOP C-Series of touchpanels include a built in 10/100baseT Ethernet interface andUSB port.The standard file system allowsthe use of a portable USB flashdrive to copy and load projectand upgrade firmware.

A streamlined automaticfirmware upgrade procedureis available if files are present inthe user memory. With the builtin Ethernet port and the use ofoptional fieldbus module(Profibus, DeviceNET,CANopen...), the C series eTOPcan act as a bridge betweenyour industrial networks.

Multi Language support

Far East languages such asChinese and Japanese aresupported by Designer forMultilanguage applications.Both Western and Far Eastscripts can coexist in aproject using the textexport/import facility supportingUnicode.Simply export all the textinformation to a .csv file, haveit translated by professionalsand import the translated infor-mation to your Designer appli-cation for a complete integra-tion.

Language management -import/exportof applications

All alarm messages, legendsand dynamic text informationcan be conveniently exportedfor ease of translation to anExcel spreadsheet. This makesit possible to re-import your textin different languages into yourproject file. The creation ofChinese text is also done withease: with a few commandsyour lettering appears inChinese characters.

Full Ethernet Connectivity

Connect your panel to anetwork and you are ready forupload/download of projectfiles, access to recipe data,alarms and trend buffers.Several options are available forthe panels IP assignmentincluding DHCP. You can buildyour automation system

completely based on Ethernetcommunication. Just plug onecable to program the HMI withDesigner, network multiplepanels, connect the HMI to thePLC and perform dataacquisition from higher-levelsystems with the UniNet OPCServer.

Enhanced graphics

All C-generation productswith a TFT display supporta color depth of 16 bits forimages up to 64K colors.The integrated graphic editormakes it possible for userswho have no specialsoftware knowledge toprocess either importedgraphics or their own customgraphics. Therefore, thepixel-oriented creation andpositioning of graphics ismade easy. Designer 6supports the import of allpopular standard graphicformats such as JPG, BMP,TIF, DXF.

Object-oriented workflow

Grouped objects can be copiedinto an object dictionary as agroup using drag and drop.They can then be given a nameand simply used again in otherprojects. This makes it easy foryou to create and administeryour own symbol or function

groups.

All elements in the designersoftware are objects andthis makes it easy for them tobe processed, copied, cut andpasted, in the same way youwould with other Windows-based programs. In this wayobjects can also be easilycombined with each other. Thesoftware makes it possible forobjects to be grouped or givena specific sequence.
