ABOUT THE 50TH GOLDEN ANNIVERSARYMore than 50 years ago, a few West Coast Interventional Radiologists held the first annual Western Angio Club; establishing

a forum for collaborative discussion about new procedures for image guided therapies. These visionaries included well-

known luminaries & WAIS members, Dr. Charles Dotter, Dr. Josef Rosch, Dr. Harold Coons and Dr. A. Franklin Turner.

In 1970, the Western Angiography Society was formally incorporated with a mission to develop a forum where physicians

could share new ideas and to learn from each other’s successes, failures and innovative techniques. Many of those first

pioneers made valuable contributions towards improving patient care through the development of new techniques to treat

disease. Others published research findings or worked with engineers to design new catheters and implantable devices,

ultimately creating a new industry where minimally invasive procedures provided alternative treatments to peripheral

vascular disease, aneurysms, cancer, stroke, women’s and men’s health related disease, traumatic injuries, infection, and

many other vascular and non-vascular conditions.

Today, the Western Angiographic & Interventional Society is proud to continue the legacy of its founders through an annual forum for advancements in minimally invasive, image-

guided procedures. Our theme is 2020 Vision: Looking Back, Looking Forward. Attendees benefit from interactive discussion in the M&M Case Presentations as well

as a broad spectrum of topics from both early IR visionaries and today’s thought leaders.

SPECIAL SESSIONS & EVENTS

Early IRs Course - We’ve designed a special breakout session for early IRs that includes a hands-on

workshop and luncheon with the Golden Lava exhibitors, followed by a 2-hour session of presentations

given by luminaries and IR subject matter experts. To provide a platform for IRs-in-training to contribute

to the program and engage with luminaries at this important event, we are also featuring a scientific

poster contest.

Guest Luminaries & Society Dignitaries - WAIS has invited guest luminaries as well as dignitaries from

the Interventional Radiology family of Societies. We are pleased to host officers from CIRSE, SIR, SIO,

CIRA, AVIR, ARIN, the Interventional Initiative and others. You can also check out the program to see

some of Interventional Radiology’s giants and pioneers! Don’t miss the Meet the Giants social hour.

Thought Leader Session - The popular thought leader session is a dedicated one-hour session for

Golden Lava exhibitors and their selected physician attendees. WAIS will organize a board-room style

meeting for you and your physicians to discuss any topics of your choosing. We recommend topics and

formats that facilitate enagement vs. one-way dissemination of information. This is your opportunity to

ask your physicians anything about products, disease-specific treatment, unmet patient care needs, etc.

Physician Well Being Focus - Physician burnout can have a significant impact on organizational

productivity, morale, costs, and the quality of care that is delivered. As a result, both the AMA and

ACCME have recently developed a call to action for organizations to promote health & well-being

for physicians. At this year’s conference, WAIS is offering a wellness theme through a conference

step challenge, a Wellness for Life presentation, and a panel discussion on diversity, wellness,

ethics and shared values in IR.

2020 VISIONThe thought leader session is your opportunity

to engage in a dedicated one-hour session with 3

physician attendees of your choosing. Each company

may select their focus area / topic(s) of discussion

such as product feedback, development needs,

clinical data, unmet needs in disease treatment, etc.

Early IRs and IRs-in-training will take part

in this IR basics session. Part one of the

course includes this one hour hands-

on instruction with Golden Lava level

exhibitors and physician experts. The

second portion is a 2-hour classroom

format.

Help us tell the amazing 5 decade story of innovation in IR!

Select one product or story “looking back in history” and

select one cutting-edge product or story that represents

where our field is today or “Looking forward”. Your

content, our design. Each will be designed on a banner

and placed into the history walk at the WAIS 50th Golden

Anniversary conference. If this isn’t part of your exhibit

level package, please inquire about sponsoring a flag.

The exhibit hall passport is a voluntary activity

for attendees to participate in a product trivia

contest. Attendees will visit each booth to get

the answers and a “stamp” for their passport.

All exhibiting companies will be listed in the

passport. For greater visibiltiy, exhibitors can

purchase ads.

This activity is part geocaching and part IR

medical device treasure hunt. It is designed

for attendees to get moving, have fun,

teambuild and get more familiar with your

medical devices. Exhibiting companies will

contribute a product with information about

features and applications (clues).

Attendees use the conference app to follow

along on session presentations, take surveys,

look up speaker bios, and look up information

about exhibiting companies. When an

attendee opens the app, rotating banners are

seen at the top of their device. Banners can be

linked to your profile or webpage.

EXHIBIT TERMS & CONDITIONSOnline registration for the 50th Anniversary WAIS confirms that the registered company (Vendor) acknowledges and agrees to these Exhibit Terms and Conditions.

Property Damage: Any damages to the Mauna Lani Resort (Hotel) to Western Angiographic & Interventional Society (Group) or to the Vendor’s employees, equipment or property, or to any guest or third party caused in whole or in part by the outside vendor, is the sole responsibility of the outside vendor. Vendors shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Hotel and Group and respective officers, employees, directors, partners, agents, members and guests from and against any and all demands, claims, damages to persons or property, settlements, judgments, losses and liabilities, including without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs of investigation and defense (collectively “Claims”) arising out of or caused by its own negligence or acts or omissions in connection with the provision of services, the use of the Hotel facilities or the fulfillment of its obligations under these terms and conditions. The Hotel reserves the right to advance approval of exhibit hall specifications, including electrical requirements, for all outside vendors.

Outside Food and Beverage: All food and beverage consumed at the meetings and functions held at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel must be provided, prepared and served by the Hotel and consumed on Hotel preimises. In the event the Hotel agrees to allow any food or bevergage to be purchased off property for the purpose of consumption on property by the Vendor, the agreement requires a written contract and the Vendor will be charged a predetermined fee established by the Hotel.

Materials and Property: The use of doubled-faced tape, nails, screws and staples are prohibited. Use of glitter, confetti, duct tape, balloons, wires, strings or other foreign materials must have the prior approval of the Convention Manager and Hotel Manager. A service fee is assessed for the clean-up and removal of materials mentioned above. Prior approval is required to affix materials to the walls, floor or ceilings of rooms. Any damage fees assessed will be the responsibility of the vendor, and will be charged to the company’s account.

Hotel Reservations Cancellation Policy: The Western Angiographic & Interventional Society (WAIS) negotiates significantly reduced room rates at our annual conference host hotel. We are pleased to pass these discounts directly through to attendees, vendors and guests. In order to secure these discounted rates at premium venues (often 50% off standard rates), our host hotels require us to guarantee a mutually agreed upon block of rooms, which are based on rooms requested by registrants. We strongly encourage our attendees and exhibitors to take advantage of these room rates and utilize this room block while being aware of cancellation deadlines attached to our room block contract.

Room reservations are ultimately the responsibility of each guest and we are unable to assist attendees with any adjustments to their hotel reservations after our 30-day conference cut-off date. This year, the cut off date is August 18th, 2020. All hotel room cancellations (full or partial), no shows or early departures after this date will be subject to the full amount of the reservation. This commitment is applied to both the Mauna Lani and the Fairmont Orchid room blocks.

Dear Exhibitors,

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Scientific Program Director for this very special 50th anniversary meeting of the Western Angiographic and Interventional Society, themed “2020 Vision: Looking Back, Looking Ahead”.

This truly visionary organization grew out of the first Angio Club, where some of the brightest minds in Interventional Radiology exchanged their experiences and ideas, defining our field. Together with distinguished luminaries and accomplished speakers from our region and beyond, we will examine the past and future of IR as we continue to push the frontiers of medicine. As practical as it will be inspirational, this meeting is not to be missed!
