Building construction with prefabricated timber and engineered wood
About Frame Australia 2016
The Frame Australia conference and exhibition is the only national event for the complete supply chain of prefabricated timber and engineered wood building systems for housing, multi-residential and commercial building markets, now in its 18th year.
SessionsThe conference program sessions will contain presentations on new technologies and automation in frame and truss manufacturing, engineered wood product developments, production and supply of prefabricated panel building systems.
Design and construction topics will cover increased height of timber buildings, faster construction and lower costs, along with design and engineering solutions in timber and wood building systems.
Sessions will consider inner-urban population density growth and the increasing demand for medium-rise housing, which has opened new opportunities for pre-fabrication in both residential and commercial building construction.
Global and local examples of construction projects along with the building systems utilised will provide valuable insight into building more efficiently and cost effectively, and at the same time more sustainably than ever before.
DelegatesConference topics will attract delegates from building design and engineering, residential and commercial construction, timber and engineered wood, prefab manufacturing, and building materials supply.
ExhibitorsThe exhibition booths at Frame Australia offer a unique opportunity for suppliers to showcase their market offer and to interact with delegates from industry sectors directly involved in building design and construction; engineered wood and prefabricated timber systems; to develop personal contacts and network for future business development.
SponsorsSponsor exhibitors are provided with prominently located booth space in the exhibition area and a very high level of recognition during the event. In addition, a proposal based on sponsor individual requirements will be prepared, including media editorial coverage and a publicity program for broad market awareness prior to and during the event.
Closing Hospitality Sponsors are provided with recognition during the conference and other specific benefits.

Building construction with prefabricated timber and engineered wood
Sessions Program 2016
2016 Conference theme: ‘Building construction with prefabricated timber and engineered wood’
For many years, Frame Australia conferences maintained an emphasis on timber and engineered wood, truss and frame pre-fabrication, however the past few events have significantly expanded topics on building design and construction.
The 2016 conference is a landmark in combined session programs providing topics for both major sectors of prefabricated timber and engineered wood, and building design and construction.
This integration has been encouraged by the rapid growth in medium-rise dwellings, which is opening new opportunities for increased use of pre-fabricated timber and wood systems in both residential and commercial building.
Future growth projections indicate a static market for detached dwellings, with growth in multi-residential construction to accommodate the increasing population in higher density developments within the inner urban zones in major cities.
Competitive timber and wood systems for residential and commercial developments now offer faster construction and lower building costs by using lightweight timber framing up to 5 storeys, and 10 storeys or more in mass timber products such as Glulam, LVL, and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT).
These market developments are to be further enhanced by changes to the National Construction Code that will expand current limits for timber building height, and allow designers and builders to design timber and wood construction up to 8 storeys under deemed to satisfy provisions.
Looking ahead, this opportunity will generate increasing supply volumes and require greater manufacturing capacity for prefabrication, which is an opportunity to offer higher value-added products to improve financial returns.
The Frame 2016 conference and exhibition is a unique opportunity to participate in this major potential for growth in the next decade and beyond.
