and technological practices. The module will reflect onthe ways in which technological artefacts and practicesgive shape to, and are themselves shaped by, our society and culture. It will also study normative aspects oftechnologies and their correlated social and cultural impacts. The module combines perspectives and insightsfrom philosophy with technical disciplines in a so-calledPhilosophy of Technology Lab, a formula which hasproved itself fruitful in the PSTS master programme. Governance of Innovation and Socio-Technical Change (15EC)In this module students learn about typical patterns ininnovation processes, they learn how society andtechnology affect each other, and how policy and othersocietal actors may actively intervene in theseprocesses. These questions are addressed from aninterdisciplinary social science perspective combininginsights from science and technology studies, policystudies and history. The module consists of four thematic componentswhich build on each other. In parallel, students work ona project in which they apply the gained insights to aparticular innovation or innovation field. The last twoweeks are dedicated to finishing the project.
