    about

    Te Event Wise Training is a personal and social development training. We

    make use o methods that ollow the natural human behavior, which work in the

    same way like learning to walk, taste and eel. We call it learning by experience.Communication with yoursel and others is essential to get out the maximum

    o this training. In this training we learn how to benet rom experiences in

    our lie in an enjoyable and dynamic way.

    During a 7 days period you are provided with tools which you can reintegrate

    in your personal or proessional lie. Te training deals with vital questions,

    such as: What do I want to do with my lie? How do I cope with events? How do

    I build up good relationships, both in private lie and in work situations? Howdo collaboration, sel-condence, parenthood, love, sel-expression and other

    aspects that determine my personal growth make up the ramework o my lie?

    Te training will rst o all ocus on actually experiencing ones own way o

    doing things. Te next step is to explore alternative possibilities to unction in

    society in a satisying way.

    Even though the training is individual-based, it is given within a group, thus you

    take the training or yoursel, with others. Te exercises, calledprocesses in our

    training context, will be done alternately alone, in pairs or in a group. Giving

    lectures that provide insights, the trainer will prepare the ground. One process

    may involve talking, while in another you will be listening or visualizing certain

    thoughts with your eyes closed. Exercises will be provided in combination with

    music, dance or play. Tere are indoor and outdoor processes.

    All processes will contain an element o surprise, the exact nature o which is not

    known upront. Questions will thus be prompted that can be answered by the

    participant alone, namely by experiencing his or her own reactions.

    Te Event Wise Trainingis a careully constructed and comprehensive whole.

    Te training will create, in a simple manner, conditions that will enable you to

    experience how you behave, what eect this has on you and what the results can

    be. Each day during the training period, you will build on what has been done

    the previous day and a new theme will be introduced.

    Te central topics raised in the training are: What is important or me in my

    lie? What do I really want and what prevents me rom achieving it? How can Iattain ulllment and realization in my lie?In general, the training ocuses on

    subjects such as ones own happiness, sel-condence, joy o lie, collaboration,

    openness, spontaneity, daring and enrichment o relationships in all areas:

    relationships with ones partner, amily, riends or at work.

    For every day, we selected seven major topics to guide and structure the

    period o the training. It is important to note that these topics include a variety

    o sub-topics and sub-goals, each according to the needs and aspirations o theparticipans, as ar as we have already mentioned that the training is individual

    in relation to others.

    Day 1At the beginning, the main philosophy o the training will be claried in a workableand concrete way. Agreements on working together will be made and roles will beclaried. Also, practical arrangements will be made, in order to create the necessaryenvironment to do the training. Te rst day o the training ocuses on the aspects o

    judgment. Each one o us has his or her own way o judging and considering matters.When we error again and again, this means that our judgment is ailing us. When weare capable o identiying the mistakes, we can correct them. Tis rst day ocuseson the ability to identiy how each one o us judges, considers and weights varioussituations.

    Day 2

    Te second day o the training ocuses on the topic opatterns. Each one o us, throughoutour lives, have developed specic, automatic ways o behaving and acting, while dealingwith events that are coming up. Tese seemingly inescapable patterns may consciously orunconsciously aect our lie. During the day, questions will be raised:What conditions doI allow to afect my lie? What automatic responses do I have? How do I sidestep

    problems? How does this afect my choices and the way in which I conduct my lie? How

    can I improve this?

    Day 3Te third day is a day ull o games and action. Tis day ocuses on sel-loyalty.Most o thetimes things happen to us without us wishing or them. Our reaction to the unexpected isusually anger, nerves, stress and pressure. And then we realize that the new circumstances,or even other people in our lives, begin to control the quality o our lie, although this wasnot what we intended in the rst place. Te third day deals with the question o how we

    can achieve the quality that we desire, by maintaining our rst intentions and by beingloyal to ourselves.

    Day 4Te ourth day deals with spontaneity. All o us experience tiring routines in ourlives, which are also connected to the sel-image that we are using. Many times,this is limiting our spontaneity. During the day, questions will come up: Do I

    allow mysel to be spontaneous? How does this afect my relationships? What arethe advantages? What restrictions do I impose on mysel by acting in a certain

    way? Could I do something new?Te ourth day will exercise the ability to enjoylie by being more daring. It is a very dynamic day, ull o playing, packed withactivity and un.

    Day 5

    In the h day you will have the opportunity to put into practice all the theory andthe tools o the training and see how you can create and recreate enjoyment in everymoment, independent o the circumstances. Tis day ocuses on conrontation. Howto cope with the events in lie? Or situations that we did not expect or planned - butthey happened?Tis means how not to reeze, but rather how to maintain our powerand way o unctioning in the most possible manner during every situation, as well asaerwards.

    Day 6

    Te sixth day ocuses onreedom. And by reedom we mean the state where you havealways a choice. Tis day deals with a central question: What do you want in lie? Whatdo you really want?On this day, you will conront yoursel in depth with this question,independent o the opinion o others. It is a unique opportunity to explore, discover andexperience who you are and what you want to do with your lie.

    Day 7During this last day all experiences and insights gained during the training will be com-bined into one consistent all. Te seventh day deals with the question osel-ulllment.On this day you will be able to orm a clear notion o the way you conduct your lie andmakes you ullled.

    You will be also provided with tools that will enable you to apply everything you havelearned rom the training and about yoursel in you daily lie. Tere will be also time toclose the training.

    AccommodationTe training takes place in the Netherlands and is organized in and around the groupaccommodation o Olde Vechte. Hosting and catering will be provided within thisaccommodation.About the house: there is a wireless internet connection in the housethat you can use. Tere are 12 sleeping rooms that can be occupied by 2 to 6 peopleand the showers and toilets are common on each foor. Besides the training room,

    which we call the Big Room, there are a cosy area and a working area available.Tereare a washing machine and a dryer that you can use. Te accommodation is located

    within a walking distance rom the city centre (approx. 500 m).

    Methodology

    Te theory o the training is based on the observation that when we are able tocreatively choose our response to what is happening, we see lie in a dierentway compared with our state o mind when we are stressed, driven or strugglingto get things under control. Tis way o being is more common than you mightthink: EEG measurements o brain patterns (a test that measures and records

Te processes allow you to startnoticing your unconscious habits o thinking, and develop your ability to alignyour everyday actions with your deeper purposes.     Who is behind the training?

    Te trainings are created by the head trainer o the Foundation, Marco Vlaming andthroughout the years the activities have been developed with input rom thousands oparticipants. Marco Vlaming is also the one who, as the head trainer o the Foundation,has developed his own work in counseling, coaching and training in order to pass theskills and practices to other trainers. Te result is an uniquely set o practical tools in a

    dynamic training that is working out o experience. Each trainer brings his or her ownpersonal learning to the training and because the work is interactive the participantsthemselves also make a signicant contribution to the experience o each group.

    How can I know if this is for me?

    We all have something to learn rom our experience o lie and this training helps todeepen and accelerate the process. You dont have to lack anything to want to enhancethe quality o your lie. It is when we are learning and growing that we nd ourselvesmost ully creative and alive.

    What happens after the training?

    Tere is 6 weeks ollow-up procedure with small working groups aer the trainingstops. Tere is the possibility to assist in other trainings, organize a training in your owncountry or use the material rom the training in your own organization. Besides theEvent Wise raining, Olde Vechte Foundation also oers the Choice raining (which isa next step personal development training) a practicing coaching training, a training ortrainers, as well as youth exchnages and workshops on dierent themes.

    Why take an intensive training?

    Each person who takes the training gets something dierent out o it and the trainingis designed to allow you to get this in your own way and in your own rhythm. Teatmosphere is sae, supportive, intimate and oen great un. Participants requently

    say that no one who has not yet done the training can imagine just how much theycan get out o it. Te skills you acquire can be used every day or the rest o your lie.

    Is this for religious people?

    Our trainings may help enhance your spiritual understanding o lie but is designed todo so without being religious. People o many dierent aiths as well as people withoutparticular aith consistently nd its practices to be congruent with their belies.

    Will I be safe in the group?

    Tis is a dierent way o being with others than most people have ever experienced. Itcan be a treat to discover just how sensitive and loving people really are.
