Laura McKiernan Evaluation Our crime drama ‘Suspected’ was created by Lily Curtis, Georgia rt and Laura McKiernan, We decided to name it /Suspected’ because of how people make assumptions about who committed the murderer. The main idea is that a women is killed, and there is a gang that is running out of the same place which the police catch on CCTV. But the gang originally ran out because they heard noise because they were robbing the bank below and they flee because of the noise, and the gang is ‘suspected’. This is why we called our crime drama Suspected. Our limitation making the trailer was not all the scenes we wanted to plan. We filmed up to 20 film scenes, but for the making of my trailer I only used 8 clips of footage, On the other hand they all fitted together. Another limitation is we didn’t use enough characters for example I played two parts in the trailer such as the killer and Victoria. Also the people we did plan to use were either absent or couldn’t come and film so we had to completely change some of our characters. Our advantages of making the trailer is the clips fitting all together. Our main idea was still the same throughout the trailer. We just had to make changes on the characters and where we filmed. We added extra characters, such as the running scene, but we didn’t plan to use that because we could use every room and space we planned to use at that time.

Evaluation

Our crime drama ‘Suspected’ was created by Lily Curtis, Georgia rt and Laura McKiernan,

We decided to name it /Suspected’ because of how people make assumptions about who committed the murderer.

In my trailer we used running shots. On the first running scene, the camera stayed still. But on the other running scenes Georgia ran with Luke, The limitation of the second running scene was that the camera was not steady at all, I think we could of used a different tripod that has wheels and then it would of looked more effective, added tension and was filmed better.

After the trailer shows you the scene of the apartment, the music goes quiet then it comes in and the title ‘Suspected’ appears. The music builds effect to the title when it comes into the scene, and adds suspense.

When I was editing my trailer we used a lot of tools to cut the clips and change the colour of the clips. We had to cut the clips down to make sure it didn’t look like its just put together in a random order.

This is how I made a title throughout my trailer. I made 7 titles in my trailer. It helps it makes you understand the trailer more because you introduce the characters to the audience.

This shot shows that this is a crime drama, not anything else. We made the camera this angle to make it look like the victim is weak and that the audience/police are looking down at her she it shows she is not alive.

This shot is over the shoulder, we used this shot type to show they are having a conversation, and it brings the audience into the conversation.

There is a single title in this is because It has no background image involved. I did the same thing with the default still title but there is no image in the back. I like the three titles in the end they stand out and the music go very well with it.

Before we made our crime drama we looked at crime conventions in Sherlock, CSI and Castle. To help us understand more about crime dramas and key things to put into our trailer. This helped our group because it gave us more idea’s so if our original idea didn’t work then we have ideas to fall back on. Also more crime drama such as CSI and Sherlock helped us create an idea on the same idea as these do.

We did some idea on the characters before we made our crime drama. This is our final spider diagram of what characters we would use. There were several characters we didn’t use such as; Ross Stan Martin And also we had a complete change on the main characters which were played by me a Lily.

This is our schedule we made for our Crime drama to go to plan. Unfortunately none of this went to plan because most of the English room were being used, we had to change several scenes and rooms. We changed most of the scenes where they were shot and also we changed most of the characters. I had to be two because in our media group most of them were filming or editing. But in the end I think our trailer fitted together nicely.
