1 M/s. SVLF Ripening chamber Shri.Satya Reddy Raipur
SVLF fruit ripening chamber is situated in the Raipur private fruit market. The proprietor Shri. Satya Reddy’s forefathers hailed from Andhra Pradesh doing the fruit trading since their coming to Raipur 70 years back. Now they are well established and are leading buyers sellers in the private fruit market. Presently Shri. Reddy having two ripening chambers and are in the process of constructing another big chamber with delivery of 50 Mt. per day. When we have enquired about the production of Banana fruit they opined that area under banana is not able to deliver the consumption requirement hence they are getting fruit from long distances which is costlier for them In view of nearer to the town private fruit market is established in the town though the Mandi Board fruit market is coming little bit away from the town
PREPARATION FOR THE SESSIONS: After receiving the approvals for conducting trainings from National Centre for Cold Chain
Development (NCCD), we have contacted Divisional Public Relations Officer (DPRO) and
Department of Horticulture, Department of Agriculture, Owners of fruit ripening chambers, and
Mandi Board officials ,the response is overwhelming.
While the trainings were sanctioned by NCCD for 25 trainees per batch, the local response from
youth was more. At the registration time approximately above 50 candidates showed up to
participate. All the candidates preregistered and last minute showings are also allowed to
participate in the training.
AGENDA: EMPLOYMENT GENERATION
As this is the first program of its kind, unemployed learned skills suitable for running ripening
chambers. Owners of the Ripening Chambers promised to give employment to the trained
persons in due course of time.
These trainings are planned on written demand of owners of Ripening Chambers infrastructure,
who also assured employment opportunity to the trainees. The prospective employers ie:
ripening chamber owners allowed practical trainings in their facility and actively participated
with the trainees, and clear the doubts of trainees during the practical session.
It’s a dawn of new beginning the present generation is beginning to understand the importance
and benefits of the industry. We hope to see an upcoming change in due course of time.
Actual employment generated will be monitored and reported to the NCCD
