EVALUATION Q2: HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS?

HOUSE STYLE

I created a house style throughout my products in order to link them all together as one as well as make them recognisable. Dull colours such as white, black and grey were shown through out to represent the theme and mood.In order to make my film recognisable I have presented many pictures on my products of the two main actresses. This helps the audience get to recognise them and link it back to the film. It was key to use the same girls in all my products relating to my film to enable to audience to get to recognise them and identify with them which may encourage them to watch the film. This is an example of how I have combined my short film, film poster and film review effectively.

I believe I should have used the same title font in all my ancillary products similar to a logo so that the audience can again, link it back and be reminded of the film. Typography is an example of a way in which I did not combine effectively.At the beginning of my film I used an average bold block font for the title of the film. Where as for my film poster I have used a more unique font which I should have used for all my ancillary products.

COLOUR AND TYPOGRAPHY

I used white a lot when writing about my film as well as always having the title displayed in white on a dark background. This reflects the contrast between the friends and the pure against evil.The use of greys, blacks and whites portray the atmosphere of the film, which ends in a dramatic, upsetting way.

THEMES

My films main theme is friendship, referenced in my poster ‘keep your friends close, and enemies closer’ as well as talking about the girls friendship in my film review and presenting them in all the ancillary texts.

Overall, I believe that I combined my main product and ancillary texts well, although there are a few improvements that could have been made. The style and theme of my products all linked together and appeal to my target audience.
