When starting off this course, I hadn’t used an apple mac before, however this was all I used so I had to adjust quickly. I got the hang of them fast enough and now use them everyday in all my lessons, they run faster and more efficient that regular pcs so I can see the desire for them.It is a very high quality, top of the range pc which has all the software I need to make my magazine successful.

Blogger is a very popular blog-publishing website that allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. I used this throughout the whole production as a way to record and display my progress as I worked through each lesson and task on my magazine’s creation. I uploaded each lesson my goals and reflections, research, planning, production, and now my evaluation. I had never used blogger before, however it is quite easy to pick up and get the hang of. Using this electronic method of documentation of my progress is a more convenient way that having to print everything off and put them in a folder, as you can go back and edit the dates, or make changers after you have already published them. It is better to demonstrate a wide variety of media forms which is why blogger is a good platform as it HTML base so you can upload many different things.Blogger is basically a very organised platform which helped me keep track of, and record all my research, planning, ideas, and productions which have all led to my final pieces.

For each page on my magazine I used photoshop to digitally edit my images, and create the pages. I started this course with a basic knowledge of the software and tools, however I have also been using it in my graphics lesson, so I quickly grasped the hang of it and can now confidently use it. There were quite a few techniques I still didn’t know how to do or if they were even possible, but I googled them because I knew what effect I wanted, such as smoothing out the face of my model in big chunks to make the skin flawless. For the image, I used a whole handful of tools, such as levels, brightness, adjustment-hue and saturation to name a few, then use spot healing and shading to get the quality of the model up to magazine standards, removing dark under eye circles and blemishes.

Dafont is a free legal website that offers cool and creative fonts that you can easily download and install for them to be right in your pc’s font list. You can use the helpful categorised sections so you can easily find anything you wish to fit all genres.

Prezi is a presentation software and storytelling tool for presenting ideas on a virtual canvas. It has allowed me to demonstrate my work and the thought patterns of how I got to different stages and my research for things like lighting and camera angles.
