In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forma and

conventions of real media products

Question 1: Double Page Spread

This is the Final draft of my Double page spread. I used a variety of ideas to get to my Final draft. I looked at magazines such as Q in order to develop my article. I decided to use an interview for my article as I felt it would be more interesting rather than an article written by the magazine.

I followed the conventional layout of Q Magazine’s article. I liked this layout as I felt it was attractive and appealing to the eye. I initially did not have letters as the background of my article. However, I felt that the page looked bland without anything. After seeking advice I came to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to add the letters as a background to match the busy image on my second page. I also added pull quotes to my article which is again a conventional method used by magazines.

I again used the conventional idea for my second page. I decided to make my image take up the whole of my second page. I imposed my image onto the background so that it would look plain on the page. I also added branding to the bottom of the page which is again a conventional idea used by magazines

Question 1: Double Page SpreadOverall, I am pleased

with my article as I feel it fits in well with magazines which are already available on the market. I think it fits in with Q magazine. However, it is different to my original design as I did not originally plan to have letters as the background of my interview, but this does fit into conventional ideas
