European Legends Walking Football Festival

It is our pleasure to invite your Walking Football Team from the 18th to 20th of September 2017 to participate in the very first of its kind European Legends Walking Football Championship Tournament.

We are proud to announce that the venue of the festival will be the iconic Dutch national sporting centre Papendal and the host of this sportive European event is Vitesse Arnhem.

Overall, 24 Walking Football teams from all across Europe take part in the Festival and teams from Portugal, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Cyprus and Norway have already confirmed their attendance, turning the festival in a truly European event.

The European Walking Football Festival offers an exciting and not to be missed event programme on and off the pitch, ranging from cultural visits, after dinner entertainment to a great fan zone during the festival.

With family activities alongside the tournament games it is set to be a festival for both players and families. Next to that, the European Legends Walking Football Festival is an opportunity to promote the sport of Walking Football and to come together making friends from all over Europe.

We are greatly looking forward to your participation and wish all competing teams the best of luck, best of sportsmanship and enjoyment whilst playing this beautiful game.

Package Pricing

For all teams wishing to take part in the walking football festival, there are various packages available to suit your needs.A Walking Football Team consists of 10 players and 2 staff members.

Entry to the European Legends Walking Football Festival incurs a modest Entry Fee. We can confirm that in partnership with Papendal Netherlands national sports institution and local accommodation we are able to offer subsidised rates for the Festival, making it affordable for all!

The festival packages include a cultural visit and after dinner entertainment during the festival, which is optional for the teams. However, there will be costs associated for these elements of the festival.

This pricing brochure provides further information on the different packages and the associated costs. The packages can be booked individually or as an all-inclusive package.

The pricing brochure includes preferred options for your hotel accommodation, which have been negotiated for the Festival and are logistically located for the sport centre Papendal.

4Cultural Visit The Netherlands Open Air MuseumThe Netherlands Open Air Museum (In Dutch: Nederlands Openluchtmuseum), which can be found near Arnhem, is an open air museum/park with antique houses, farms and factories from different parts and times of the Netherlands. It is a national museum that focuses on culture associated with everyday lives of ordinary people. The museum is also possible to visit when it’s raining, there are around forty historic buildings that you can enter and see from the inside and there is also a historic tram that can transport you through the park. The park is about 44 hectares in area and certainly worth a visit.
