engineering team
CHIEF ENGINEER: 80 E402B Multiple Voltage Line Locomotors Fleet of Trenitalia customer to define and develop new functions “to improve their performances”. Multiple locomotor TCN remote control has been realized. All activities and the development process phases are according to the international standards as EN50126, EN50128, EN50129. The software system of the Central Control Units System is made by Siemens and the software functions are defined according to the IEC61131 standard. Each function has been analysed checking their safety impact. Factory Process Innovation: Designer and Owner of a complex system:
PP-TRACK (IoT) is a system able to “Process and Product lifecycle Tracing and Tracking (P.L.M.)”. It’s a centralized and web based computer solution, using the various TAG technologies, specially the RFiD technology designed and tested since the 2009 year for rail applications. Functionally the first module of the system is the “Product Serialization”, necessary to trace and store the lifecycle history. The modular design approach of the system allows to realize subsequently many functions using the same database (Big data). This system allows to be compliant to the international standards to trace the lifecycle process phases, improving the quality and the safety of the products, reducing the lead times, increasing the factory margin on the revenues. The system must be always synchronized with the design database (PDM) to be able to evaluate and give feedback to the

engineering design department, improving the expected RAMS parameters, using the “real field data collection”, reducing drastically the possibility of paying penalties. This model involves a change management for a new factory process and organization; Results/Performances: the customer satisfaction, the penality reduction for the respect of the schedule, the quality product improvement, the correct field data MTBF report, the evident margin on the revenues.
R.O.M.A. (Rail Obsolescence Management Approach) It’s a module of the main system PP-RACK, a computer aided system based on a “Proactive Methodology” for Obsolescence Management, to reduce economic and technical Risks due to the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS). This model involves a change of management for a new factory process and organization to be compliant to the standard EN62402. Results/Performances: up today the system allows to receive instantly the obsolescence status and prevision of the COTS components using an external Obsolecence provider EOP by HIS company. Then, by analysing the WBM of a project, the ROMA system shows the impact risk on the current order and inform the PM managers.
EWMS (extra warranty management system) it’s a module of the main system PP-RACK, the computer aided system to perform a special process designed to check the damaged materials on board the trains, repair/substitute with delivering a report containing the list of the parts/components damaged and not in guarantee, signed by the customer and HRI people, having a contractual value. Results/Performances: that function is able to give a margin on the revenues, with the company and customer satisfaction.
