General information

Introduction
Access rights The POP database uses access rights: Users can only see those pages to which they have access rights.
Access is currently restricted to EUnetHTA Partners and Associates who contribute to the POP database by providing information about their planned and ongoing projects.
Among participating EUnetHTA partners, access is available to persons who work for EUnetHTA Partner or Associates. The number of users from each agency is not limited.
If a EUnetHTA Partner or Associate wants to become a POP database user and provides input to the POP database, he/she is asked to get in contact with the POP database moderator ([email protected]) for further steps.
Confidentiality of information The information made available by the POP database is restricted to EUnetHTA Partners and Associates who provided information and shall not be disseminated to third parties (including other EUnetHTA partners or associates) without permission from the originating agency.

Misuse of information When informed of a misuse of information provided by EUnetHTA behind a login and password, Secretariat/ POP database moderator will:
- block the access of the user
- inform the user’s organization about infringement and request the organization to take appropriate action.

Roles There are three possible roles (access rights levels) within the POP database using hierarchical increasing functionalities:
1. Reader :
- Search for projects
- Browse for projects
- See potential collaborations (for the reader’s agency)
- See all potential collaborations (for all information providing agencies)
2. Creator :
- Search for projects
- Browse for projects
- See potential collaborations (for the creator’s agency)
- See all potential collaborations (for all information providing agencies)
- Add projects (on behalf of the creator’s agency).
- Edit projects (on behalf of the creator’s agency).
3. Moderator :
- Search for projects
- Browse for projects
- See potential collaborations (for the moderator’s agency)
- See all potential collaborations (for all information providing agencies)
- Add projects (on behalf of the moderator’s agency).
- Edit projects (on behalf of the moderator’s agency).
- Add MeSH terms (if this has not be done by the creator him/herself)
- Verify MeSH terms (all MesH terms assigned to projects have to be verified by a moderator before they can be published in the POP database)
- Administration of agencies’ and users’ access right s and roles

Public Sites
Log in To log on to the POP database at http://eunethta.dimdi.de/PopDB/ , you need to use your personal EUnetHTA ID (which is also the username and password to the EUnetHTA Members Only / MO site).
If you do not have a EUnetHTA ID so far, please contact the EUnetHTA Secretariat ([email protected]).

1. Type in your Members Only user name (= EUnetHTA ID)
2. Type in you password
3. Enable automatic logon ONLY if your computer is not public
4. Click on the ‘Log in’ button
Login error
If you get an error like "invalid username" or "server password is missing " when logging on, your account may be invalid. Please log on to the MO site, click on “Edit contact info " (which is under the picture at the right side) and change or confirm your password at the bottom of the site to validate your account. Don’t forget to click the “safe” button.
You can access the EUnetHTA Members-only site from this URL: http://www.eunethta.eu/Members_only/
You should be able to log on to the POP database within the next three hours. If the problem remains, please contact the POP database moderator ([email protected]).

2. Proceed to the Members Only area.

3. Type in your name (=EUnetHTA ID) and password to log on to the Members Only area.
a. Name: first letter of your first name, followed by last name
b. Password: your individual password.

4. You can find the Planned & Ongoing Projects (POP) Database under the heading EUnetHTA Tools .

5. Log in to the EUnetHTA POP Database by providing your EUnetHTA ID and password , which are the same like in item 3 (see above).

Search
If you want to search for projects , you need to provide keywords and information on how you want to search for keywords
1. all (AND)
2. any (OR)
3. exact phrase
In addition you can restrict your search according to the submission date, the agency, the status and the language .

Wildcards: Click on details to get information on the use of wildcards.
• wildcard *: For example, if you are looking for projects that contain the word aorta , your search results will contain 2 projects in total.

If you want to browse for projects , you can browse by

If you browse by MeSH terms , you can use the first three levels of the MeSH tree for each main category.

For example, if you are looking for the MeSH term C11 Eye diseases, you will get 33 projects that are listed in this category. To narrow your search results down you need to select a more specific MeSH term at the second or third level.

If you specify your search, for example to the MeSH term C11.768 retinal diseases only, you will receive 19 projects in total.

Add or edit projects
If you are a creator (database role “creator”) you can add and/ or edit projects .

If you want to add a project , you need to proceed through three steps:
• Step 1 : Please provide specific information on the project. Then proceed to step 2.

• Step 2 : Please add MeSH terms. You need to add one (at least) to three MeSH terms for both of the following categories:
o Pathology, indication or disease
o Technology, drug, medical device or intervention

How to add MeSH terms?
There are three ways of assigning MeSH terms to each project. You can add MeSH terms by

3. directly entering a (known) MeSH term or code

You need to indicate , whether you want to add the respective MeSH term for either pathology , indication or disease or technology, drug, medical device or intervention. Then click add MeSH term .
If you try to proceed to step 3 without having assigned a MeSH term to both categories, you will be reminded to add a MeSH term to each category and will not be able to proceed.

Once you have assigned MeSH terms to both categories , you may proceed to step 3.

• Step 3 : provides an overview of the project details and the assigned MeSH terms. Please double-check the information before saving the project. If you want to make some changes to the project details or the MeSH terms, you can return to step 2 and/or step 1.
