Coronavirus update
Dear Parents and Community Members,
We hope you are keeping well and are staying safe at home during these uncertain times.
School staff are busy this week developing planning frameworks around different scenarios for the
start of Term 2. At this stage these include:
Model A: Health crisis is over and all staff and students return to school as normal.
Regular curriculum planning across all learning areas.
Model B: Health crisis is ongoing (Short Term).
Online and hardcopy teaching and learning. Utilising Microsoft Onenote, emails, skype /face time,
phone call check ins and paper resources.
Model C: Health crisis is ongoing (Long Term—School Closure).
Online teaching and learning. Utilising Microsoft Onenote, emails, skype /face time, phone call
check ins and online resources.
As not all of our families have access to reliable internet, laptops and ipads, we are planning a combina-
tion of online and hardcopy learning materials. In the event that this pandemic continues after the
school holidays we will initiate Models B & C. We will send planning, links to information and online
resources via email and Class Onenote (Microsoft App). In addition, each classroom will have named
bags of materials set up for pick up from school on Monday 20th April from 8am to 3pm. Each bag will
have 2 weeks worth of work and are to be collected fortnightly on a Monday morning throughout the
term (April 20th, May 4th and so on, if need be). These bags will be located at the P-2 port racks for P-2
students and at the front of school for Yr 3-6 students. In the interests of hygiene and safety, do not
return completed materials each fortnight. Please keep until notified it is safe to bring them back to
school.
We understand that families may also be feeling stressed or anxious at this time. It is difficult to learn
new information when we are subject to trauma and many children will find it hard to concentrate or
focus on the work. If your child is happy and enthusiastic about doing the work, that’s great. If it is fur-
ther contributing to their stress, please make adjustments which suit your situation or contact the
school.
Please continue to access the latest information relating to the pandemic COVID-19.

The school will endeavour to communicate to families through emails, school facebook page, class On-
enote app and daily/weekly check ins via phone. More information pertaining to school open-
closing will be relayed to our families through the above communication tools. Another email will be
sent out later in the week relating to Term 2 Learning Documents. Stay well & be Safe!

Bullying No Way! In week 8, Friday 20th March, the school as a collective created our “Bullying No Way!” wall. Thank you to the students and staff for making this possible. Every time our students walk past the wall they place their hand in the hand to signify No to Bullying!
Harmony Day
Students and staff all had a fantastic afternoon discovering the culture and enjoying activities from Malta. Thank you to
Mrs Dyson for treating us all to some traditional Maltese food. It was scrumptious!! The students also had a wonderful
time playing Bocce and Xixu.
