We have some staffing changes that will take
place over the next few weeks. Mr GB is off
having some minor surgery and taking some
long service leave. While he is on leave Mrs
Gerstenberg will be relieving as Principal. Miss
Standing will be relieving for Mrs Gerstenberg
as Stage 2 Assistant Principal and Mrs Smith
will take Mrs Gerstenberg’s class for the three
weeks. Huge congratulations to Ms Pumpa
who will be filling in as the districts Learning
and Wellbeing Officer for the remainder of the
term. Miss O’Connor will be relieving as
Special Education Assistant Principal and Mrs
Hawkins will be taking Ms Pumpa’s class.
A reminder to parents that the school and
canteen are not able to heat up any food
children bring from home. It is against food
safety regulations. A thermos is a great
alternative and if eaten at recess food
generally keeps warm enough. While on the
subject of food, there has been a large amount
of students seeking food from the office. As it
gets colder, children do tend to get hungrier so
maybe packing some extra healthy snacks may
be a good option.
On Tuesday we had Senior Constable Barbara
Beard come to speak with the students about
a range of topics. One of the messages senior
students received was around road safety.
Students were reminded to be safe and wear a
helmet to protect their heads in the case of an
accident.

The Escape from Sunnydale
I was beginning to wonder if I’d ever escape this place. I
jumped on the toilet and the window sill. I could hear
screeching and children playing. I saw a kite! It helped me
escape landing on a tree. Phew! That was scary but I was
happy. Bonnie saved me by taking me home in her bag.

Today we got goldfish from the hardware store. Their
names are Goldie and Nemo. The fish are different
colours, one is orange and white and the other is white.
Their tank is shaped like a pentagon.
