Yaama,
What an amazing year Berinba has had on the sports
field. From outstanding school swimming, cross
country and athletics carnivals through to individual
children achieving selection in South Coast Regional
teams to compete at state carnivals it continues to
demonstrate the wide opportunities our children
experience. A very big thank you to the parents who
have helped with transport, coaching and supporting
our kids on and off the field.
I am in the process of signing your children’s half
yearly reports. I always enjoy this time of year when
we share with you the many successes of your
children in their classroom achievements. We are
constantly reviewing our reporting processes and
would love to receive any feedback you may like to
share with the school in regard to the reporting
process we have in place. Reports will be home in the
last week of term.
With winter firmly here we are collecting an amazing
pile of lost clothing. We do try to reunite children with
their lost jackets and jumpers which is made easier if
clothing is labelled. If you have lost contact with a
beloved jumper or jacket pop into the lost property
room, fight your way in and search away. Lost
property is located in the sick bay room near the front
office.
We have had some great news from council with some
new road works to take place on the corner of Grand
Junction Rd and Church St. The works will ensure the
safety of your children as they leave the school and
head across Church St. Works will start on Monday
25th June and traffic control measures will be in place
for the week. School buses will not be affected. The
works will include an island and pinch points to slow
traffic down as they turn into Church St.
A reminder that all payments to the school can now be
made through our school website using the POP
system. We already have about 50% of our payments
made electronically and encourage you to consider
this method. It has proven to be a most secure and
productive method of making payments to the school
for excursions etc.

Term 2, Week 8 May 2018
Whats been happening in KD?
We have been looking at our baby photos and talking about what babies can do.
Then we thought about how we have changed and what we can do now we are at
school.
Every week KD goes to the computer lab. We have been working on the KID
PIX program to create drawings and write words.
We made these pictures by inserting a background, then a text box.
After that we typed our names and printed our picture.
KD have also been learning how to type in their user name and password to log
onto the computer. This week we were very excited because every class
member achieved this milestone.
CONGRATULATIONS KD!
I had the opportunity to go to the Binit Binit writers camp. I found it really Inspiring to meet a published author. It gave me more drive to live my dream as a author. Throughout my stay I learned so much and I am looking forward to writing more stories. By Niamh Lazar
