Core courses are compulsory for all EPGP students and theyconcentrate on broad areas ofmanagement, which every seniormanagerneedstomaster.Youhavetostudyfifteencorecourses.

Oncompletionofthecorecourses,youhavethechoiceofabroadrangeofelectivestoalignthe learningwithyourcareerobjectivesandpersonalinterests.Inadditiontoelectivesdesignedspecificallyfor theEPGP,youalsohaveaccess todesignatedelectives fromthe institute’sotherprogrammes including the twoyearPGP, thePGP in Enterprise Management and PGP in Public Policy and Management,eachofferingspecializedtopicsofstudy.Creditsareassignedtoeachelectivecoursebasedonthenumberofhoursofstudy.Youneedtocompleteaminimumof24creditsacrosstwoelectiveterms.Youalsohavetheoptionoftakingupto6additionalcredits.

With3admitsfromtop-notchbusinessschools,theobviousquestionwaswhichonetochoose.Asabrandandasthebestreturnoninvestment,IIMBwasclearlyontop.TheonlyissuewhichwasholdingmebackwasthegeneralperceptionthatIIMB’sone-yearMBA programme (EPGP)hadmajorityof its students from an IT background and I haveabackgroundintheEnergysector.Ididmyresearchandfoundthat,beitFMCG,Power&Utilities,Finance,Manufacturing,TechnologyorConsulting,theEPGPcohortatIIMBhaditall.AdecisioninfavorofIIMBbecamecertain.

Whileworkingwithabrilliantcohortof70providesmeanopportunity to discuss and understand experiencesofthefinestmindsofIndia,theemphasisonemergingmarkets,theglobalcontextalongwiththeimmersionprogramme,willensurethatmylearning and application are not restricted to one nationorcontinent.Thewidespread alumni base of IIMB across industries will facilitate networking withtopexecutivesofdiverseindustries.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Based on overall performance aspertheadmissionscriteria,thetop10candidatesintheadmissionoffermerit list of EPGP are eligible for “EPGP Admission Scholarship” of ` 5.00 lakh each,whichwill bein the form of a fee waiver out ofthe total feepayable for theEPGPcourse.Accordingly, anamountof` 2.5 lakhwill bewaived from thesecondand third term feepayablebythecandidate.

IIMB also offersmerit scholarshipsworth ` 25,00,000. The top fivestudents will get ` 5,00,000 each,on the basis of their academicperformanceduringtheprogramme.The EPGP Admission Scholarshipawardeeswillalsobeeligibleforthemeritscholarship.
