Asset Hub will be used to manage the handover, readiness, and sustainment

of maintenance master data for new capital projects and the remediation and

sustainment of this data for facilities already in production.

The NRX Asset Hub will provide Shell with a centralized enterprise

Maintenance Reference Library that contains validated maintenance

information and best practices from across the upstream organization.

Case Study: Shell Canada – Scottford Upgrader

Opportunity

In a multi-billon dollar base plant construction, the information handover was not complete, validated or structured as required by the oil company to perform efficient operations and maintenance as the new facility entered production

An additional 14 person-years and a further investment of over $4 million was necessary to properly collect, create and structure the data and documents needed to startup, operate and maintain the new facility

For the subsequent expansion project, the oil company created the Information Handover Guide and a Downstream Expansion Information Management Plan to specify all aspects of the information handover deliverables

The oil company contractually bound the EPC company to fulfill the IHOG requirements for delivering information for the project

Solutions and Implementations

The oil and EPC companies selected the NRX Asset Center to:

Collect data from source engineering systems and populate a complete and validated asset registry

Collaborate with equipment suppliers to collect equipment details and recommended spare parts

Continuously update and maintain data and information as changes are made during the project

Manage, validate, and report on all data according to Information Handover Guide

Deliver the complete IHOG requirements to the oil company to ensure operational requirements are achieved

Earlier OO-EPC Collaboration and problem identification to reduce risks

Handover and Capital Project Readiness with Fluor

Opportunity

For a multi-billon integrated oil and gas project in Nigeria, Shell has contracted Fluor’s

Performance Technology Division to create the maintenance basis for ongoing plant operations

Solutions and Implementations

The EPC company selected the NRX Asset Center to:

Collect data from source engineering systems and populate a complete and validated asset registry

Collaborate with equipment suppliers to collect equipment details and recommended spare parts

Continuously update and maintain data and information as changes are made during the project

Create FLOC hierarchy, asset registry, spare parts, BOM’s, and MJR’s (Maintenance Job Routines) all specific to the Shell specification

E-SPIR Advisor SPIR data is exported from Advisor and imported into the Asset Center for use by

Fluor when building out the Maintenance Job Routines (MJRs).

Manage, validate, and report on all data according to Information handoverspecifications

Deliver the complete information to Shell to ensure operational requirementsare achieved
