    ont enhancements Multicast streaming. Omnicast now supports multicast streaming on Arecont units.

    Panoramic cameras must be updated with firmware 65183 or later, and single sensorcameras must be updated with firmware 65218 or later.

    Variable bit rate support. You can now configure a variable bit rate on the Video Quality tab of the unit for H.264 streams. Please note that setting the variable bit rate to zero results in an unlimited data rate.

    enhancements Support for Q8721-E and Q8722-E Dual PTZ network cameras. The Q8721-E and

    Q8722-E Dual PTZ network cameras are now supported in Omnicast. For moreinformation about configuring these units, see the Omnicast Video Unit Configuration Guide.

    Basler enhancements Variable bit rate support. You can now select a variable or constant Bit rate on the

    Video Quality tab of the unit in H.264 or MPEG-4.

    h enhancements End of camera tampering event. There is a new End of camera tampering event

    available in Omnicast for Bosch units. This event is triggered when the state of the camera returns to normal after a tampering event. If the camera has multiple tampering events, the End of camera tampering event is only triggered once all tampering events are cleared. Additional configuration is required on the Web page of Bosch units to receive motion detection events in Omnicast. For for more information, see the Omnicast Video Unit Configuration Guide.

    sonic enhancements Support for 360-degree cameras. Omnicast now supports the following Panasonic

    360-degree cameras. WV-SW458 WV-SF438 WV-SF448 WV-SF458In order to use PTZ commands, additional configuration is required before adding the unit in Omnicast. For more information, see the Omnicast Video Unit Configuration Guide.

    WJ-GXE100 support. Omnicast now supports the Panasonic WJ-GXE100 video encoder. RS-485 communication with a PTZ motor must be configured on the units Web page before being added to Omnicast. You must also select the Enable connected PTZ motor option on the Specific Settings tab of the camera in Config Tool. For more information about configuring RS-485 communication on the units Web page, see your Panasonic documentation.

    enhancements Face detection. A new Face detection event is available in Omnicast to support Face

    detection for Sony sixth generation units.

    enhancements Digital Auto Tracking 1.0 ACAP application. Omnicast now supports receiving

    Digital auto tracking started and Digital auto tracking stopped events from the Axis Digital Auto tracking ACAP (Axis Camera Application Platform) application on Axis cameras with firmware 5.50 or higher. A new option called Enable Digital Auto Track-ing is now available in Config Tool on the Specific settings tab of Axis cameras that support this feature. The Axis Digital Auto Tracking application needs to be installed on the Axis camera, and any View Areas need to be enabled on the units Web page before adding the unit to Omnicast. For more information about installing this applica-tion and which units support it, see your Axis documentation. For more information about configuring View Areas, see Configure multi-view areas in the Axis section of the Omnicast Video Unit Configuration Guide.

    Q7411 video encoder. Omnicast now supports the Axis Q7411 Video encoder with coaxial cable PTZ control. A new option called Enable Coaxial PTZ is available in Config Tool on the Specific settings tab of the unit. In order for the PTZ control to work, a coaxial PTZ driver must be installed on the encoder. For more information on how to install a PTZ driver, see your Axis documentation.

    Bosch enhancements VideoJet XTC XF H.264 video transcoder. Omnicast now supports the Bosch Video-

    Jet XTC XF H.264 video transcoder for use with Bosch IP cameras that have firmware 5.60 or later. Additional configuration is required on the units Web page before adding

    Region of interest. The Bosch Region of Interest feature is now supported by Omni-cast. For more information on configuring this feature, and units that support it, please see your Bosch documentation.

    Bosch IVA (Intelligent Video Analysis). Bosch IVA is now supported by Omnicast. For more details about IVA and which Bosch units support it, please see your Bosch documentation.

    sion enhancementsOmnicast now supports multicast streaming on Hikvision units with firmware 4.0.0 or later. For the list of models that support firmware 4.0.0, see Tools > Supported Devices on GTAP.

    sonic enhancements Edge recording for additional models. Omnicast now supports edge recording for

    models with firmware 1.60 or later. For the list of models that support firmware 1.60, see Tools > Supported Devices on GTAP.

    HTTPS support. For added security, Omnicast now supports Hypertext Transfer Pro-tocol Secure (HTTPS) for Panasonic units. HTTPS can be enabled in the User authen-tication dialog box of the Discovery tool, in the Specific Settings tab for the unit, as well as in Server Admin. For more information, see Discovery Tool, Adding Video Units, and Panasonic Extension in the Omnicast Administrator Guide.

    Improved PTZ speed handling. PTZ speed handling has been optimized for smoother transitions between commands.

    Sony enhancements Sixth generation unit support. Omnicast now supports Sony sixth generation units

    and the following features with firmware 1.2 or later: Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format support.

    Full HD 1080p resolution. Triple streaming. Wide dynamic range. A new option called Wide dynamic range is available in Con-

    fig Tool on the Specific settings tab for units that support it. Constant bit rate. There is now a Constant bit rate option in the Config Tool Video

    Quality tab for units that support it. H.264 Profile selection. A new Profile drop-down menu is available in the Config

    Tool Video Quality tab for sixth generation units that support multiple H.264 pro-files. You can choose between Baseline, Main, and High.

    Streaming at 60 frames per second. In order to stream at 60 frames per second, addi-tional configuration is required on the units Web page before adding the unit in Omnicast. For more information, see the Omnicast Video Unit Configuration Guide.

    Hardware motion detection. Omnicast now supports hardware motion detection for fifth and sixth generation units.For more information on Sony fifth and sixth generation units, see your Sony docu-mentation.

    Firmware enhancements. Omnicast now supports firmware 1.77.

    o Trickling enhancementsThe Video Trickling feature has been enhanced by the following:

    More information in the Archiver logs. The Archiver logs now include more infor-mation and the messages have been standardized.

    Details column in the Camera list panel. A new Details column is available in the Camera list panel. This column provides additional information about the trickling sta-tus. For more information, see Camera list in the Trickling section of the Omnicast Administrator Guide.

    DMR hardware matrix protocol This protocol is now available in Omnicast and supports up to eight simultaneous PTZ keyboards per serial link for a hardware matrix. For additional configuration information, see the Omnicast Video Unit Configuration Guide.

    Failover archiving when database connection is lostYou can now choose to trigger a failover when the connection to the Archiver database is lost.     Omnicast 4.8 SR2 Hardware Integration Package 1 (HIP1) introduces the following new features and enhancements.

    enhancements Video Motion Detection 2.1. Omnicast now supports receiving Motion on and

    Motion off events from the Axis Video Motion Detection (VMD) 2.1 application on Axis cameras with firmware 5.40 or higher. The Video Motion Detection 2.1 applica-tion needs to be installed on the Axis unit, and motion detection zones must be config-ured on the units Web page before adding the unit to Omnicast. For more information, see the Axis Video Motion Detection 2.1 Users Guide.

    Axis remote focus and zoom. Omnicast now supports Axis remote focus and zoom. This feature is available for certain Axis models with fixed lenses, and allows the opera-tor to make focus and zoom adjustments remotely from a computer rather than having to physically adjust the camera on-site. Remote focus and zoom is automatically detected by Omnicast, and available as a series of commands in the Live Viewer when you right-click in the cameras viewing tile. The following commands are available: Perform auto focus Zoom in (fine) Zoom in Zoom out (fine) Zoom out For more information about the Axis remote focus and zoom feature and models that support it, see your Axis documentation.

    Omnicast 4.8 SR2 introduces the following new features and enhancements:

    enhancements YP 3040 support. Omnicast now supports the Axis YP3040 Pan-Tilt Motor. A new

    option called YP3040 Connected is now available in the Specific settings tab of Axis units that support this feature.

    Enable Link-Local Address option. You can now use the Enable Link-Local Address option in the Specific settings tab to enable/disable the ZeroConf protocol for Axis units. ZeroConf is a discovery protocol that uses up resources on the camera; it can be disabled for optimal unit performance.
