introductionAt sr4 Partners, we integrate the following nine

beliefs of adult learning into all our learning designs:

1 Begin with the why. From the very beginning, adults need to know why they arelearning something and how they will benefit from the time invested.

2 Build on prior experiences. Adults learn best when their prior experiences are

    acknowledged and built upon.

3 Allow for self-direction. Adults appreciate being responsible for their owndecisions and having choices about what and how they learn.

4 Make it relevant. Adults want content that is immediately relevant to their workand/or personal lives.

5Focus on solutions. Adults need to know how the content they are learning canbe applied to solve or mitigate problems.

6 Practice increases retention. Adults increase their learning retention when theyhave dedicated time to practice using new skills and knowledge.

7 Reflection is essential. Adults are more likely to engage in new behaviors whenguided reflection is linked to internal motivators.

8Its how are you smart, not are you smart. Adults have different intelligences and

preferences. Everything we do is designed to appeal to the broadest possible

    array of learning styles.

9 Fun generates engagement. Adult learners benefit from fun, dynamic, andhighly interactive learning environments.

a unique way to consider those personal principles that can be leveraged for targeted

their best selves. It results in a public awareness of what you stand for and how you want to

be seen by others in the context of the promotion you seek.

The key to promoting yourself rests in the ability to feed your connections. Specific

networking exercises will help participants assess the value of their current connections and the

effectiveness of communicating their best selves to people of importance. The second key

is to let your best you shine forth. Through an interactive series of improvisational techniques,

participants discover their unique characteristics, display them in their best light, and create

a high profile. The final key is to create your fans. Building an army of followers is a critical

    angePath to Sustainable Change

With every change intention there are the few who know, who make decisions, who see

something new and different, and who understand and the many who are thinking of other

things, determine how much gets done, and have seen it all before. And those who must

be led to adopt this change, must execute it, and who may resist it. Between the few and the

many theres a chasm the chasm of disconnect. This workshop focuses on how to use the

Path to Sustainable Change to cross this chasm and connect the few and the many. There

are four steps in creating sustainable change. This workshop explains these steps, provides

examples of each, and lets participants practice creating sustainable change that can be

    translated into the workplace.
