“The Digital School” reform is the main vehicle for applying the potential of ICT and Open Educational Resources (OER) in Primary and Secondary Schools.
This scheme has been piloted in 800 primary schools and 1250 lower secondary schools with the aim of developing repositories with digital content and training teachers to support this educational reform in schools.
Within this reform, the Greek National Learning Object Repository Photodentro, which hosts open learning objects, has been designed and is being developed by the Computer Technology Institute of the Ministry of Education.

The context in which OER are used is also part of the challenge - they need explicit pedagogical
guidelines andintegration in learning scenarios/practices.
OER have the potential to provide personalized, interactive and
student-centric services.
Teachers have the opportunity to use OER to create meaningful,
collaborative environments, situated in real life, fostering 21st Century
skills.
