1. Teaching reading skill and new constructivist approach in
digital era Goals and objectives of current English curriculum: heavy stress on the instruction of literacy skills associated with print literacy
Needs: learning by doing, training students to get more critical thinking skills by equipping them with media literacy and utilizing Internet-based e-learning tools
using technologies as intellectual partners to (a) articulate what they know; (b) reflect on what they have learned; (c) support the internal negotiation of meaning making; (d) construct personal representations of meaning; (e) support intentional, mindful thinking

4. Learners’ characteristics HUCFL:
11 groups of second-year students majoring in English language
30 students majoring in different fields (English language, Japanese Studies, Vietnamese Studies) agreed to enroll in this course
PKU: there are 21 students from different backgrounds (English,
Economics, Environment, International Relations, Archeology)
8 groups, each group to collaborate with one or two Vietnamese sister groups
