Question I: East and West (content questions) 15 marks
(The Five essays have excluded from East and West:
i. “Assignment with an Octopus.”
ii. “The Crossing at Attock.”
iii. “England and Shakespeare”.
iv. “The Story of Astronomy”.
v. “Some Economic Problems of Pakistan.”)
Question II: Essay (with emphasis on the thesis topic, 25 marksDevelopment of the outlines and the argument).
Question III: Textual Comprehension (From East and West). 10 marks
Question IV: Summary (from an unfamiliar source). 15 marks
Question V: Vocabulary (explanation of words, expressions, 10 marksPhrases and idioms in a given passage).
