The shape and size of the treatment channel is not left to chance: it comes from the long experience on the AIRO® Venturi tube. The operation is based on the physical principle of conservation of energy, which is transferred from the air flowing into the treatment channel to the fabric, which moves within an air cushion, and is processed evenly in width and length, with adjustable speeds that reach over 2500 m/min (150 km/h).

AIRO®24 can finely modulate the intensity of the mechanical action independently from the drying power, with the unique and patented Smart-Switch technology, a device which intelligently controls and optimizes the change of direction of air and fabric.

From lightweight materials to heavier ones made of delicate yarn, every type of fabric will benefit from the Smart-Switch technology, with a considerable increase in drying capacity and productivity.

The recirculation action is created by the air depression at the channel extremity on the side where fabric enters, and by the proportion between injected and exhausted air.

Even while alternating direction, the programmed amount, temperature and speed of the air remain constant as does the fabric speed, which is transported without tensions.

The specific design of the machine avoids the need for maintenance and the risk of yellowing fabric, even when using the highly eff icient microprocessor-controlled gas burner in alternative to the other standard heating systems such as steam (normal and overheated) and diathermic oil.

Coming from the AIRO® experience, which allowed us to define and optimize their angle, distance and structure, the special grids placed in front of the channel openings, allow the fabric to discharge the accumulated kinetic energy. The fabric benefits from the mechanical action developed within this process and acquires body, volume, drape, better stability, while getting rid of any excess of humidity.

The filtering action is independent from the air recirculation process. The air which comes out from the self-cleaning treatment channel, loaded with humidity that has been extracted from the fabric and with dust and lint, immediately enters the exhaust flow, passing through an automatic filter, which is made up of a large self-cleaning filtering element, and compacting unit with a collection bag placed on ground level for an easy access.

This reduces cleaning operations to the minimum, preventing any clogging problem and avoiding any stoppage of the machine. The efficiency of AIRO®24 is constant as is the quality of the treatment: lot after lot, day after day.

flexible steaming and processing options [5]

In addition or alternative to the classic steaming unit with exhaust fan and anti-condensation bars, which is installed at fabric entry, AIRO®24 can be provided with the new specially designed synchronized internal steaming system. Composed by two steam delivery units placed at each entrance of the treatment channel, it injects the desired amount of steam right into the air flow, which efficiently pushes it through the fabric throughout the whole length of the channel. The syncronization of the steaming direction with the movement of the fabric prevents condensation and ensures a perfectly uniform steaming action.

This can be used in combination with the new and patented H-Shutter device, which narrows only the entrance of the treatment channel ensuring that the fabric is immediately spreaded by the air, allowing to increase the shrinking action or to process fabric such as polar fleece, without the disadvantages of working in rope.

new user interface, real-time monitoring, remote access [6]

The 12.1" touch screen with a newly designed user interface, together with an auxiliary touch display at fabric exit, allows easy and complete control of the machine. Recipes, usage statistics and real-time data can be visualized and managed either on the machine or from a remote computer connected on the network. It is also possible to allow direct access to the working parameters in order to interface AIRO®24 with existing monitoring systems.

The combination of air speed and mechanical action on the fabric, the proportion of new and recirculated air injected into the treatment channel and the high air speed which optimizes the thermal exchange between fabric and air, remarkably increase the thermal efficiency of AIRO®24. Its high drying capacity, comparable to that of a stenter frame, in addition to other elements such as non-stop in/out fabric synchronization, flexible output modules, maintenance-free design and efficient filtering system, are all features that contribute to the high productivity of the machine.

Together with the low electrical consumption (minimal installed power and electronically controlled motors), AIRO®24 offers a flexible and extremely efficient production, deliver-ing the least cost per meter of processed fabric.
