What are interns responsible for during their internship?

Here are a few ways to measure the growth of the learning curve:
• Review the goals and expectations as listed in the pre-internship/first-day documents.
• Check off the goals met. • Examine the assignments completed and note
the new skills developed. • Assess internship supervisor’s final evaluation
report and • Write down the positive comments in terms of
work ethic and attitude.

Measurable areas of progress• Assess confidence and
self-esteem both before and after the internship
• Note any gained new knowledge that can be turned into a class paper.
• If grades are given for an internship, the increase in GPA is another sign of success.

Work Samples• Collect all the items—
reports, projects, documents etc.—and include them in a portfolio.
• Written explanations of the challenge and performance in each instance.
• The findings may be surprising and pleasing.

contacts made during the internship (supervisor, interns, company personnel)
• They serve as valuable resources when networking for future internships or jobs.
