About UsEML (Employee Management Limited) was founded in 1986 to provide HR, Employment Law and H&S support to businesses in the North West.

We work with clients across the UK and beyond, ranging in size from owner-managed businesses to national, multi-site organisations.

With a team of professionally qualified advisors, we combine expert knowledge of the law with practical cross-sector experience, providing our clients with a pragmatic, personal and commercially-driven approach to their HR and H&S issues.

“The service that we receive from EML is always timely and professional and it is refreshing to have a one to one relationship with our allocated contract manager, who understands the culture of our business as well as the commercial side with an up to date working knowledge of Employment Law and Health & Safety legislation. I would happily recommend EML as a company that understands its client’s needs and delivers great, cost effective results.”

ServicesOur extensive range of services reflects our comprehensive understanding of client needs. For businesses large and small, from providing telephone advice through to undertaking complex on-site investigations, we have the knowledge and commercial expertise to help swiftly resolve difficult issues.

Advice

EML is on hand to help you resolve any HR, Employment Law or Health and Safety issue – whether it’s dealing with an employee who is persistently absent, managing a complaint of bullying and harassment or ensuring you have adequate risk assessments in place. We offer pragmatic advice, always striving to recognise your wider commercial and organisational objectives.

Whilst we can offer an Employment Protection Scheme through our partners, this is entirely optional. If you choose to take up such insurance, we will continue to offer a pragmatic approach, ensuring you retain the freedom at all times to make commercially-sound decisions.

We provide advice both as part of a retainer service (unlimited advice at a fixed monthly cost) or charged at an hourly rate.

“To entrust our HR/Employee Law and Health & Safety obligations to the advice of an external party was a difficult decision and followed a laborious process of selection and building trust. Our people are important, and how we deal with employment issues is paramount to protecting those that work for us and therefore the prosperity of the business as a whole. Whilst we wanted to ensure legal compliance, equally important to us was establishing a working relationship with a commercially focused support provider whose advice was easy to understand and simple to implement. Having spent a year looking for this type of business partner, we were recommended Employee Management Ltd (EML). Having worked with them for some five years now, we find their support to be effective, efficient and professional, but also personal, pragmatic and user-friendly. Crucially, they never over complicate the more difficult aspects of HR or Health & Safety with jargon and legalese. This has been invaluable to our company throughout a period of rapid growth and shifting operational requirements. The value we now place on EML’s service – and our working relationship in general – is such that we would recommend them without hesitation.”

“Our work with Debbie Knowles & Adelle Hutton at Employee Management Services involved a potential Employment Tribunal case against our company and two of it’s directors. We were delighted with the way the case was handled and the level of professionalism shown. They represented our Company at the pre-hearing and were able to bring the matter to a close without the need for the case to reach a full Tribunal, something we were delighted about. What we appreciated most about working with Debbie & Adelle was their efficiency & attention to detail, and deliver a result which was beyond our expectation.”

We have a special support package which has been designed to meet the unique needs of new and small businesses.

It includes:

• A “new employer” manual – incorporating guidance on a full range of HR/Employment law issues

• Unlimited access to expert advice (telephone or email) – we understand that giving you a guide isn’t enough – once you’re aware of the fundamentals, you can speak to one of our team at any time to get further advice in respect of your particular situation

• Preparation of an Employee Handbook and standard contracts of employment for your staff

• Review of employee correspondence – we will ensure that your written communications to employees don’t land you in any trouble!

• Template forms that you will need on a day to day basis
