Who Should Attend?The 49th Annual Emergency Care and Trauma Symposium is designed to educate all levels of emergency and trauma providers across the continuum from the pre-hospital environment through inpatient care. This includes all levels of EMS personnel and nurses.
Symposium OutcomesDay 1 Outcomes• Participants will apply updated trauma and medical assessment tools to their practices in pre-hospital and
hospital settings.
• Participants will utilize updated practices for specialty populations (OB, Pediatrics, and Elderly) to support and enhance care of those patients at the bedside.
• Participants will utilize key information presented through case study format to improve their practice in each care team along the health care continuum from scene arrival to discharge from the hospital.
Day 2 Outcomes• Participants will utilize newest strategies and techniques to support and enhance care of patients with
traumatic injuries, spinal cord injuries, and burns.
• Participants will identify and utilize strategies to care for themselves as caregivers and to alleviate compassion fatigue.
• Participants will utilize key information presented through case study format to improve their practice in each care team along the health care continuum from scene arrival to discharge from the hospital.
Day 3 Outcomes• Participants will apply knowledge learned through Warm Zone Training when responding to Haz Mat
situations.
• Participants will apply key information learned in identifying drug classes and formulate initial clinical interventions for patients severely intoxicated with identified abused drugs
• Participants will identify the parameters of selective immobilization to identify individual patient needs
• Participants will utilize key information presented through case study format to improve their practice in each care team along the health care continuum from scene arrival to discharge from the hospital.
