» Time savings » Engineering and construction cost savings » Knowing project cost up front » Value engineering up front » Constructability review up front » Communication and partnering » One-source responsibility » Reduced owners risk » LEED-accredited engineers on staff

Pre-construction

Our pre-construction services, when com-bined with estimating and purchasing ser-vices, assist in meeting project design needs quickly and efficiently. Services include:

Central Plant Services

Typically, central utility plants (CUP) produce steam and chilled water on large commercial and academic campuses. The steam produced is used for heating, humidification, sterilization, and testing. The chilled water produced is used for comfort and equipment cooling. CUPs are often more energy efficient and reliable, and offer operational savings as compared to having decentralized boilers and chillers. Our central utility plant services include:

» Upgrades » Installation of additional underground utility piping

» Installation of centrifugal chillers » Installation of cooling towers » Pump upgrades » Condenser water piping system upgrades » Upsized system support » Additional chilled water capacity

Plumbing

Whether clients are in need of an entire plumbing system for their facility, or a crew to excavate the soil for a new plumbing installa-tion, Fagan’s licensed journeyman plumbers know how to get the job done—and done right.Plumbing services include:

» Certified backflow » Design-build » Emergency response » Installation (new construction, renovation, retrofit)

» Maintenance and repair » Site utility » Specialized healthcare facility and medical gas system installation and service

» Potable and non-potable water systems

Energy Retrofit

In today’s economic environment, rising energy costs are a continuing concern for many facility owners and managers. Knowing where to look for energy cost savings is about understanding how to optimize the performance of equipment that is in use and knowing when an upgrade can save you money in the short and long run. Fagan’s knowledge gives clients the options to save and maximize on their HVAC and light-ing systems. Energy retrofit considerations:

» Replacing a 30-year-old boiler rated at 1 million BTUs and 65% efficiency with natural gas at $1.10 per therm can save as much as $14,000 per year.

» Gas boilers that are 20 years old are rated 70% efficient, but often actually operate at 60% or less.

» Today’s boilers operate at 92% efficiency and higher.

HVAC

Fagan’s mechanical service team is comprised of professionally qualified technicians with hands-on experience that can meet virtually any HVAC service needs that arises. We invest in the most sophisticated diagnostic and test-ing equipment to provide early detection and analysis of problems. Our preventive and predictive mainte-nance solutions combine systems expertise with today’s leading-edge technologies to keep clients’ equipment and systems operating at peak performance levels. Our preventive and predictive maintenance services cover:

» Boilers » Burners » Hot water and steam » Thermal scanning » Indoor air quality (IAQ) » Chillers, DX systems » Computer rooms/labs » Refrigeration services » Environmentally controlled » Chambers and ultra-low temp » Infrared thermography » Vibration analysis » Balancing » Laser alignment » Variable refrigerant systems
