1. Introduction

1.1 PurposeThis documentation will be used to install EMC PowerPath on all servers that require SAN connection through HBA fibre cards. It will document a set by step process for installing this software.

1.2 ScopeThis document is aimed at entire Project Delivery Team . This document details the process, configuration and requirements for the install of EMC PowerPath 4.5.

1.3 ObjectivesThe key objectives of this document are to:

2.1 OverviewThe following diagram illustrates the process for SAN connection of a server:

Logged on as User with Administrator privileges




2.2 Install process

Create a Temp directory under the root directoryConnect to \\casper\d (\\150.227.104.200\d)

From the Build directory copy both: EMC Power Path Emulexto the Temp directory on the Server

Through Windows Explorer navagate to C:\Temp\EMCPowerPath\4.5.GA\w2003




Select the relevent executable file EMCPP.W2003_32.4.5.0.GA.exe for windows 2003 EMCPP.W2003_x64.4.5.0.GA.exe for X64 windows 2003

Choose English (United States) and select OK




Automated preinstall checks occur, once successfully completed.

Click Next




Select No and then click next Next

Click Next




Ensure the above are selected and click Next

Click Install




Installation occurs...

You will be prompted to enter a licence key. This can be found in the following location: C:\Temp\EMCPowerPath\PowerPath\4.5.GA\Licence.txtEnter the licence key and select Add




Select OK

The instalation is now complete

Select Finish




Yes to reboot
