Description of Research and Scholarly or Creative ObjectivesInterest in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the research domain.

Interest in quality of life issues in psychosocial oncology. Included is research measuring the grief reaction in a bereaved population. In addition is research measuring patients' self-care self-efficacy. Research focuses on health outcome variables: adjustment to illness, adherence to treatment, and psychological adjustment.

1997 Spring, 1997, 3 credits, Conducting a therapy group with depressed women, Marilyn Gaesser, graduate student, student conducted a therapy group with depressed women from a battered women's shelter, focused on identification and treatment of depression, and wrote a paper describing the project.
