Your Journey of a Lifetime...

May 11 – Depart Dayton

Depart USA on your transatlantic flight to Tel Aviv, Israel, with dinner and breakfast served

en route.

May 12 – Arrive in Tel Aviv

Arrive in Tel Aviv. Visit the old city of Jaffa where Simon the Tanner lived and from where

Peter left to bring the gospel to Cornelius. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

May 13 – Journey to the Sea of Galilee

Travel along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, where Paul made his defense before Festus

and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome (Acts 25 & 26). Stop at the Tel of

Megiddo and the Valley of Armageddon (Revelation 16). Ascend Mount Tabor where Jesus

was transfigured before Peter, James and John (Matthew 17). See Nazareth, the boyhood

hometown of Jesus (Luke 2).

May 14 – Northern Israel

Visit Caesarea Philippi and Banias, where Jesus took His disciples, and Peter made his great

confession, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt. 16:16). Continue on to

Mount Hermon, probably the site of the Lord’s Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-9). Stop at

Tabgha, where the feeding of the 5,000 is remembered at the Church of the Fish and Loaves

(Luke 9). Explore Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry. Visit the synagogue that stands

on the site where Jesus taught. Recall his teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom

(Matt. 4:13, 23). Reflect at the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of

Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Pass through Bethsaida one

of the "cities of woe" mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 11. Enjoy a fish lunch at Ein Gev

Kibbutz before crossing the waters of the Sea of Galilee by boat. At Kibbutz Nof Ginosaur,

you'll learn about the "Ancient Boat," a rare example of the kind of boat in which Jesus

would have sailed. End your day remembering Jesus’ Baptism at the Jordan River.

May 15 – Journey to Jerusalem

Visit the ruins of Beit Shean that was continuously inhabited for 5000 years and was one of

the Roman cities Jesus passed on his way from Galilee to Jerusalem. Journey to Jericho, the

oldest city in the world. Visit the ruins of the ancient city, which was conquered by Joshua

(Josh. 6:1), and view the traditional site of the Temptation of Jesus (Matt.4:1). Enjoy lunch

and a camel ride at the Mount of Temptations before continuing on to Mount Scopus for your

first view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and be

touched by its poignant images.

May 16 - Mount of Olives & the City of David

Stand atop the Mount of Olives as Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of the "Golden

City" of Jerusalem. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven from the

Mount of Olives (Acts 1: 9 - 12). Walk the Palm Sunday Road down the Mount of Olives,

stopping en-route at Dominus Flevit Church, a great view and excellent place to sing. Walk

on to the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26). Next to the Garden of Gethsemane is the Church

of All Nations. In the courtyard are Olive trees whose roots date back to before the time of

Christ. Inside the church is the stone where tradition holds Jesus prayed the night before His

crucifixion. Continue to the City of David where you will explore and gain an understand-

ing of the Jebusites and the Jerusalem from the time of David and Solomon. See Warren's

Shaft, the Pool of Siloam, Hezekiah's Tunnel, and the Kidron Valley. This morning travel to
