Contrast happens when two elements on a page are different. For example it happens when two opposing colors are used in a design between the text and the background

or in the size and style of type. Our eyes like contrast.

To achieve contrast the elements must be completely different. But what does contrast really do?

1. Attracts the eye

2. Organizes content/information

3. Creates focus
