COMPONENTSHolland Actuators B.V. offers electro/mechanical components that are used in the industrial, maritime,

and offshore market. The components are characterised by the high quality and long service life and are

in accordance with the quality and safety standards required in these markets.

nFastening accessories and elements for optimal

adaptation to the most varied systems.

nControl and safety systems (mechanical/inductive

limit switches, absolute/incremental encoders);

nMaterials and surface coverings, depending on

the environmental conditions.

SCREW JACKSScrew jacks are often the most optimal technical

and economical solution for applications that require

linear, precise and safe movement, for transfer and

for elevation, mainly for medium-heavy loads and

medium-low speeds.

The screw jacks also offer:

nAxial load capacities, from 5 kN up to 500 kN;

nAdvance speeds, depending on the screw pitch

and the gearbox, two possible gears are offered

depending on the size of the screw jack, from

4:1 to 56:1;

nTrapezoidal and ball screws, depending on the

specific requirements;

LINEAR ACTUATORS, F/A SERIESLinear actuators F/A Series are electro-mechanical

cylinders in which a rod moves inside a second tube,

of either steal or aluminium. The lengthwise movement

of the stem is achieved through the combination of an

inner screw/nut which drags it, and an electrical motor

that drives the screw/nut. The external rod protects and

highly seals the equipment and can therefor operate in

the most aggressive conditions, with the presence of dust

or liquid. The rod provides an extraordinary capacity for

buckle load against axial compression loads.

The screw supports also offer:

nAxial load capacities, from 3.5 kN up to 86 kN;

nStem advance speeds depending on the screw

pitch and the transmission used;

nTrapezoidal and ball screws, depending on the

specific requirements;

nThe outer tube of steel or extruded aluminum profile.

nFastening accessories and elements, for optimal

adaptation;

nDrives, with different reduction ratios and positions with

respect to the cylinder, enable the best solution to be

offered for any speed and configuration problem.

nControl and safety systems (inductive/magnetic stroke

limit switches, absolute/incremental encoders);

nMaterials and surface coverings, depending on the

environmental conditions.

SCREW SUPPORTSThe screw supports are motorized in a very simple way,

by motors or motorreducers in different configurations

and with different speeds. The power transmission from

the motor may be direct or by means of different gear

solutions and toothed belts.

The screw supports also offer:

nAxial load capacities, from 2.5 kN up to 45 kN;

nNut advance speeds depend on the screw pitch

and the transmission used;

nTrapezoidal and ball screws, depending on

the specific requirements;

nFastening accessories and elements,

for optimal adaptation;

nDrives, with different reduction ratios and positions,

which enables the best solution to be offered for

any speed and configuration problem.

nMaterials and surface coverings, depending on

the environmental conditions.

ELECTRO-MECHANICAL LINEAR ACTUATORS WITH INTEGRATED REDUCTION AND CUBIC GEARBOX, THE FM/AM SERIES

The FM/AM Series electro-mechanical actuators,

with integrated reduction and cubic gearbox, are the

optimal technical solution for applications that require

the movement specifications of a screw jack, with the

additional advantage of being able to work under

the most demanding environmental conditions.

The screw supports also offer:

nAxial load capacities, from 5 kN up to 250 kN;

nAdvance speeds; depending on the screw pitch and

the gearbox, two possible reductions are offered de-

pending on the size of the actuator, from 4:1 to 40:1;

nTrapezoidal and ball screws, depending on the

specific requirements;

nFastening accessories and elements, for optimal

adaptation;

nControl and safety systems (mechanical/inductive

limit switches, absolute/incremental encoders);

nMaterials and surface coverings, depending

on the environmental conditions;

nSteel round tubes or aluminium extrusion profile

(magnetic sensors, anti-rotation system) as external

sleeve for the stem.

BEVEL GEARBOXESBevel gearboxes are encased in robust cast metal

housings and have hardened bevel gears pairs with

spiral toothing and amply dimensioned rolling bearings.

Spiral bevel gears have the significant benefit of very

favourable meshing characteristics (high contact ratio).

They are therefore especially well-suited for operation

under high load factors and when the highest smooth-

ness of running and a high degree of trans-mission

precision are required.

The curved teeth are more resistant to distortion than

are straight or helical teeth. A further benefit is their

relative insensitivity to elastic distortion of wheels,

shafts and bearings.

The gearboxes are thus able to transmit extreme shock

loads. A total of ten different standard versions are

available, with further variations as multishaft gearboxes.

All gearboxes may be installed in any mounting position

and may have mounting holes on all sides.

SCREWS AND NUTSScrews transform a rotation movement into a transfer

and vice versa; the latter depends on the type of screw

and its dimensions. We offer an extensive range of

screws for all types of applications, within sectors as

varied as tool machining, aeronautics, transport and

handling industry, renewable energies, etc. Our quality

standards guarantee the highest levels of reliability on

the entire range of screws and nuts. Ball Screws and

Nuts and Trapezoidal Screws and Nuts.

The benefits of ball screws over trapezoidal

screws are the following:

nGreater positioning precision;

nLonger useful life;

nGreater efficiency;

nPossibility of working at higher speeds;

nLower heat generation;

nNo slipping or gripping effects.

Trapezoidal screws are usually obtained using a cold

deromation lamination process, in which the fires on

the teeth are shaped without cutting.

Against others obtained by machining with stock

removal, they have the following advantage:

nHigh resistance to fatigue;

nHigher resistance to wear;

nMore polished thread flanks;

nHigher resistance to corrosion;

nMore precise profile.

the optimum solution for the customer. We work closely together with our customers and suppliers and

we keep the communication lines short. This enables us to provide the electro/mechanical systems that

meets the customer-specific requirements excellently.

SCREW JACK SYSTEMSScrew Jacks are a combination of a screw with a gearbox.

It is possible to protect the screw with a bellow (available

in different materials), in order to make them suitable for

outdoor applications or harsh environments.

Screw Jacks are optimal for applications that require

safe, precise and lineal movement to transfer and elevate

medium-heavy loads and medium-low speeds.

LINEAR ACTUATORS, F/A SERIES SYSTEMSLinear actuators F/A Series are the best solution in

practically any application that requires precise and safe

linear movement, whether it is for transfer or for elevation

and regardless of the required speed.

The F/A Series have high movement and positioning

precision with a small size, superior energy efficiency,

easy and fast assembly, and a great reliability and duration.

The Electro-mechanical actuators FM/AM series

combine the sleeve and stem system of the F/A series

linear actuators with the gearbox of the screw jacks, thus

obtaining the best features of both types of products.

The FM/AM series are the optimal technical solution for

the applications that require the movement specifications

of a screw jack, with the additional advantage of being

able to work under the most demanding environmental

conditions.

SCREW SUPPORTSScrew supports are a simple and economical solution

for mounting a screw on a support and fastening it to

any part of a machine. The turn of the screw moves its

corresponding nut and with this the desired part of the

machine moves (such as carriages and tables).

LINEAR TABLESLinear tables are suitable for almost any precise positio-

ning application. The tables can be combined manually

in their simplest version, or by CNC, and can move small

and high loads with low energy consumption.

The linear tables are light, modular and easy-to-

assemble units, either separately or combined with

each other. They can be assembled on one, two or three

axis, thereby achieving the optimal solution for a great

number of applications.

The tables are supplies with high precision linear

guideways allowing smooth and low noise operation.

Also, the linear tables us high precision rolled or grounded

ball scres depending on the positioning tolerance.

There is the possibility of installing pre-loaded double

nuts, in order to eliminate or reduce to the value, the

backlash between the nut and the screw.

BEVEL GEARBOXES SYSTEMSBevel gearboxes transfer energy through conical gears

in optimized geometry. The standard backlash is

lower than 10 angular minutes, and may be less than

6 minutes at customer’s request. The bevel gearboxes

are supplied with ball bearings (standard) or conical

bearings (at customer’s request), sealed and lubricated,

depending on factors like load, speed, sonority, and

temperature. Bevel gearboxes are lubricated with

high-performance synthetic oil with the possibility

for NSF-H1 approval for the food industry.

The efficiency of the bevel gearboxes, depending on

the torque transferred, the lubrication and the assembly

position, is usually higher than 98%. Ventilation is needed

for working temperatures over 50°C. Aeration and

venting filters can be mounted optionally.

RODLESS MECHANICAL CYLINDERS SYSTEMSRodless mechanical cylinders can be used in almost any

type of machinery, as long as it works with linear forces

or moves one or more axes in a controlled manner.

The cylinders can be used separately and combined,

and multiple combinations are possible. Basically,

these mechanical elements that translate rotating entry

movements into linear exit movements. The carriage is

actioned by a nut, which in turn is pushed by a turning

screw. Each carriage is fitted with either a single ballscrew

nut or a trapezoidal nut and are supported by bearings

on their ends. The carriages are mounted on a prismatic

linear guide that is fitted inside an extruded aluminium

body. The set is protected from outer dust by the profile

itself.

In the linear dives the carriage is mounted on a linear

guide that is driven through a steel braided toothed belt.

This type of transmission enables linear speeds of up

to 5 m/s to be reached, which is comparable to those

offered by pneumatic cylinders, although with the

advantage of being able to carry out an unlimited

number of intermediate positions on the run, with

total control of speed and positioning.

mechanical cylinders.
