Traction Rolling Operation (TRO) Organization is headed by Sr.DEE/TRO/BSL and

assisted by ADEE/TRO/BSL along with Loco Inspectors & Technical supervisors. The

organisation set up at Divisional level is depicted below.

Brief History

Electric Traction in Bhusawal Division was first started in 1969 on Igatpuri - Bhusawal

section. Now almost entire division, i.e. Bhusawal - Igatpuri (308 RKM), Bhusawal -

Khandwa (124 KM), Bhusawal - Badnera (219 RKM) is electrified with a total route KM of

651. The TRO organization came into existence in 1991-92 with the unification of crew.

Major activity

� Loco crew Management.

� Maintenance of Running rooms, lobbies and trip sheds.

� Management of operation of Electric locos.

� Timely feeding of locos to ELS/BSL for schedule inspections and undertaking Trip

inspections at BSL, MMR & IGP Trip Sheds.

Infrastructure

� Crew booking lobbies:

There are 07 Crew Booking Lobbies

located at Khandwa, Bhusawal

(Passenger), Bhusawal (Goods),

Badnera, Nandgaon, Manmad and

Igatpuri.

� Running Rooms: There are 06 Running Rooms located at BSL (140 beds), KNW (49 beds), BD (124 beds), NGN (76 beds), MMR (70 beds) and IGP (52 beds).

The following amenities have been made available at all Running Rooms of BSL division: Meditation Room, Aqua guard, Cubicle partitioning, Centralized Cooling, Refrigerator, Shoe polish Machine, Recreation room Garden/ Lawn, System of linen changing ,Standby electric supply, Solar water heater/Electric Geyser, Microwave oven,Washing Machine, Weighing machine with BMI chart, Separate Kitchen for Veg and Non Veg with separate utensils.

� New Rest Rooms for coaching crew started at AMI & AK.

� Trip sheds: There are 02 trip sheds, one each at Bhusawal and Igatpuri.

� Drivers’ Training Centre: Drivers’ Training Centre is located at BSL in Old Steam

Loco Complex.Running staff is imparted training on loco operation & trouble shooting,

Traffic and Safety rules by conducting regular courses.

Achievement

� Introduction of Common Line Box System : The TRO Branch of BSL Division has introduced a unique concept of Common Line Box System in place of age old individual line box system for Loco Pilot existing over Indian Railway. Individual line boxes issued to each LP is withdrawn and a pool of common line boxes are made at each crew-booking lobby. Now these line boxes are loaded at Divisional interchanging point and remains in loco during its entire journey within the division.

� After successful implementation of this system within the division, the same is

introduced between BSL-NGP-BSL for Mail/Exp. trains. With DC-AC conversion of

KYN-LTT section, common line box system is implemented for M/Exp. trains running

between LTT-BSL-NGP. Hence, the mission of extending common line box system

over Zonal boundary has been achieved for M/Exp. Trains. On implementation of the

above system there is recurring saving of approximately Rs. 51,22,336/- per annum

due to reduction of Box Boys & reduction of requirement of line boxes.

� Introducing the system of extended crew run. Running of Crack Special Trains between BSL-ET, Missile trains between BSL-NGP & Jet trains between BSL-IGP is introduced in order to skip crew changing point at KNW, BD & NGN respectively. It has contributed in optimum utilization of crew.

� Implementation of CMS to its fullest extent : It consists of -

� 100% crew booking on CMS. � Calculation of mileage, overtime, night duty allowance. � Use of various reports as per requirement.

� A special crash course of 3 days is being conducted to update knowledge of LPs about WAG9 locos, new equipments like FDCS, VCD, SI units etc.

� IP based Camera with local as well as Centralised recording facility is available in each lobby for recording of BA test.

� MODERNISATION OF Sr.DEE/TRO’s OFFICE

All the staff of Sr.DEE/TRO’s Office has been provided with computer terminal and a thin client which is connected through LAN and can access printer and other facilities through their individual terminal. This is one more step towards modernization of this Office. Earlier modular partition & working tables were provided

� MODERNISATION OF DTC

The DTC BSL has been equipped with

modern teaching aids by providing a

smart board and a LCD projector.

These are used to give audio visual

inputs to the trainees for better

understanding of concept.

Yoga classes have been started for the

benefit of loco running staff at DTC BSL

for improving their alertness during work

and also to improve their health

consciousness.

� RUNNING ROOM BED OCCUPANCY SYSTEM

A Software has been developed in house

to allot beds at running room by the

concerning lobby staff for better

management of running room assets. This

software will also help in day to day

manangement of running room affairs.

� TOUCH SCREEN FOR ENTERING DEFECTS & OTHER DETAILS BY LP

To enter track/ signal/ loco defects observed by the crew

a register (common defect entry register) is provided in

all lobbies. A software is made functional at NGN lobby

on trial basis to enter the same through touch screen

KIOSK with voice recording system. The defects thus

entered by the crew will be electronically transferred to

the concerned department and TLC by the lobby staff.

Feedback will be obtained electronically in the reverse

direction.

� SIGNAL BOOKLET

To improve sectional knowledge one pocket size booklet

containing location of all signal of the BSL division is

prepared in-house and supplied to all running staff for

utilisation in case of any doubt. Signals located on the right

side is printed with Red colour to given special attention.

Salient features of road learning to be kept in mind by LP is

also printed in this booklet.

� GRADIENT BOOKLET

One pocket size gradient booklet containing

topography of entire Bhusawal Division along

with location of stations, station layout, location

of critical signal/restricted signals, ‘Neutral

Section’ is prepared and distributed among

loco running staff for better understanding of

the geographical conditions of the Division.

� GYAN KASAUTI

In order to improve Trouble shooting

skill of loco crew, a software named

“Gyan Kasauti” developed by

ETTC/BZA is installed in DTC BSL &

NGN lobby.
