At no time, the emission levels shallgo beyond he prescribed standards. ln the event of failureof any pollution control system adopted by the unit, therespective unit shall not be restarted until the controlmeasures are rectified to achieve the desired efficiency.

We have installed two field ElectrostaticPrecipitator and Stack height as perCPCB guidelines to control theemissions from the 45 TPH Bagassefired Boiler of Cogeneration plant .

The Bag filter is installed for the 10 TPHBoiler fired on spent wash and coal andmaintain the particulate emissionswithin the prescribed limits of KSPCBWe have also installed online monitoringsystem for distillery boiler for analyzingparticulate matter, Sox and NOx..Weare regularly submitting monthly reportto regional office Kanrar of onlineemission monitoring.

(iv) In plant, control measures for checking fugitive emissionfrom allthe vulnerable sources shall be provided. Fugitiveemissions shall be controlled by providing closed storage,closed handling & conveyance of chemicals / materials,multi cyclone separator and water sprinkling system.Dust suppression system including water sprinklingsystem shall be provided at loading and unloading areasto control dust emissions. Fugitive emissions in the workzone environment, product, raw materials storage areaetc., shall be regularly monitored and records shall bemaintained. The emissions shall conform to the limitsprescribed by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board(KSPCB).

We have taken care of control measuresfor checking fugitive emission from all

the vulnerable sources. Fugitiveemissions are being followed andcontrolled by providing closed storage,closed handling & conveyance ofchemicals / materials, and watersprinkling system. Dust suppressionsystem including water sprinklingsystem is provided at loading andunloading areas to control dustemissions. Fugitive emissions in thework zone environment, product, rawmaterials storage area etc. are regularlymonitored and records are maintained.The emissions are conforming andwithin the limits prescribed by KarnatakaState Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).

v) The gaseous emissions from DG set shall be dispersedthrough adequate stack height as per CPCB guidelines.Acoustic enclosure shall be provided to the DG sets tomitigate the noise pollution.

the Regional office of MOEF, the respective Zonal Officeof CPCB and the KSPCB. The levels of PM10, PM2.5,SO2, NOx, CO and HC (Methane) in ambient air shall be

monitored and displayed at a convenient location near themain qate of the companv and at important public places.

(vii) Pucca approach road to project site shall be constructedprior to commencing constructions activity of the main

(viii) Total fresh water requirement from Kali river for distilleryand sugar along with cogeneration shall not exceed 3161

m3 / day. Prior permission for the drawl of 3161 M3/daywater shall be obtained from the Competent Authority.Water consumption shall be reduced by adopting 3 R's(Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) concept in the process.

We are regularly monitoring the waterquality and recycle ,reduce the wateraccording to the requirement. Our rawwater consumption is well within thenorms of 3161 m3/day.Complied.

(ix) Spent wash generation from molasses shall not exceed 8Kl/Kl of alcohol produced (ie., 720 M3/day). The spentwash from molasses based distillery will be concentratedin MEE and concentrated spent wash will be incineratedin incineration boiler to achieve zerc discharge.Condensate water and treated spent lease will be reusedas dilution water for fermentation, cooling tower and boilermake up.

The spent wash generation is I KL/KLof Alcohol produced. The spent washgenerated is evaporated in MultipleEffect Evaporators and the concentratedspent wash is used as fuel for '10 TPHboilers. The condensate from theevaporator is treated in the ETP andused for processComolied.

(x) Wastewater generation from the sugar unit shall not

exceed 100 liters per tonne of cane crushed ie.,600M3/day. Effluent from sugar unit shall be treated in theeffluent treatment plant (ETP). Water quality of treatedeffluent shall be monitored regularly. ln any case, nowaste water / treated effluent shall be discharged intoriver / natural stream. Domestic effluent shall be treated intreatment plant

Wastewater generation from the sugarunit is wellwithin the norms of 100 litersper tonne of cane crushed ie.,600M3/day. Effluent from sugar unit is

treated in the effluent treatment plant(ETP) and used for on land irrigationand green belt develoPment. Waterquality of treated effluent is monitoredregularly. No waste water / treatedeffluent is discharged into river / naturalstream. Domestic effluent is treated in

treatment plant.Comolied.

(xi) Spent wash shall be stored in impervious lagoon withHDPE lining as per CPCB guidelines and shall be kept inproper condition to prevent ground water pollution.Storage capacity of spent wash lagoon shall be for 5days.

The spent wash is stored in imperviouslagoon of RCC with HDPE lining andare kept in proper condition to preventground water pollution. As Per theCPCB recommendations, storage is notexceedinq 05 days capacity

(xii) Adequate numbers of ground water quality monitoringstations by providing piezometers around the project areashall be set up. Sampling and trend analysis monitoringmust be made on monthly a basis and report submitted toSPCB and this Ministry. The ground water qualitymonitoring for PH, BOD, COD, chloride, Sulphate andTotal Dissolved Solids shall be monitored. Sampling andtrend analysis monitoring must be made on monthly basisand report submitted to the Ministry's Regional office atBanqalore and KSPCB.

We are analyzing the samPle onmonthly basis with KSPCB and also withKSPCB approved third party. Groundwater quality is well within the stipulatedstandards.Gomplied.

(xiii) Process effluent / any waste water shall not be allowed to

mix the storm water. Storm water drain shall be passedthrouoh ouard oond.

No process water is allowed to mix thestorm water drain. Separate drains areorovided for storm water.

Complied.(xiv) As proposed, no effluent from sugar, distillery, and co-

generation power plant shall be discharged outside thepremises and Zero effluent discharge concept shall befollowed.

We are utilizing our treated water in ourown cane farm and no water isdischarged outside the premises. Weare following zero effluent dischargeconcept.

(xv) Bagasse storage shall be done in such a way that it doesnot get air borne or fly around due to wind. Fly ash shallbe stored separately as per CPCB guidelines so that itshall not adversely affect the air quality, becoming airborne by wind or water regime during rainy season byflowing along with the storm water. Direct exposure ofworkers to fly ash and dust shall be avoided.

We are having bagasse storage yardand provided with barricade with MSstructure and Galvalume sheets to avoidthe flying of bagasse particles due towind. We are providing PPE for theworkers working in bagasse yard.Complied.

(xvi) Boiler ash shall be stored separately as per CPCBguidelines so that it shall not adversely affect the airquality, becoming air borne by wind or water regimeduring rainy season by flowing along with the storm water.Direct exposure of workers to fly ash & dust shall beavoided. Bagasse ash and coal ash shall be storedseparatelv.

We are storing the boiler ash as perCPCB guidelines without affecting theair quality during wind or water regimeduring rainy season.Complied.

(xvii) Firefighting system shall be as per the norms and coverall areas where alcohol is produced, handled and stored.Provision of foam system for firefighting shall be made tocontrol fire from the alcohol storage tank.

We have provided pucca firefightingsystem in distillery with provision offoam system to control fire from alcoholstorage tank, under emergency.Comolied.

(xviii) Risk assessment should be carried to assess the fire andexplosion risk due to storage of alcohol and reportsubmitted to the Ministry and its Regional office atBanqalore within six months.

(xix) Occupational health surveillance programme should beundertaken as regular exercise for all the employees. Thefirst aid facilities in the occupational health centre shouldbe strengthened and the regular medical test records ofeach employee should be maintained separately.

(xxi) Green belt shall be developed in 85 acres of land out oftotal land of 226 acres within plant premises with at least10 meter wide green belt on all sides along the peripheryof the project area, in downward direction, and along roadsides etc., Selection of plant species shall be as per theCPCB guidelines in consultation with the DFO. Unit shallprepare year-wise greenbelt development plan to achievetarget of 85 acres greenbelt and submit to the Regionaloffice. Each year achievement also be submitted to the

(xxiii) At least 5% of the total cost of the project should beearmarked towards the Enterprise Social Commitment(ESC) based on local needs and action plan with financialand physical breakup/details should be prepared and

All theconstruction wastes shall be managed so that there is no

impact on the surroundinq environment.

B. GENERAL CONDITIONS:

(t) The Project authorities must strictly adhere to thestipulations made by the Karnataka State Pollution ControlBoard (KSPCB), State Government and any otherstatutorv authoritv.

(ii) No further expansion or modifications in the plant shall becarried out without prior approval of the Ministry ofEnvironment and Forests. ln case of deviations oralterations in the project proposal from those submitted tothis Ministry for clearance, a fresh reference shall be madeto the Ministry to assess the adequacy of conditionsimpobed and to add additional environmental protectionmeasures required, if any.

No further expansion will take withoutprior approval from Ministry ofEnvironment and Forests..

(iii) The location of ambient air quality monitoring stations shallbe decided in consultation with the State Pollution ControlBoard (SPCB) and it shall be ensured that at least onestation is installed in the upwind and downwind directionas well as where maximum ground level concentrationsare anticipated.
