El 18-19 de abril pg BAPUNTES #1: Verbos ReflexivosReflexive verbs are action words that reflect the subject. In other words the subject is doing and receiving the action.
For example: I brush my hair.I am doing the action (brushing).I am also receiving the action (my hair is being brushed).
In order to conjugate a reflexive verb, you have to include a reflexive pronoun.
Let’s begin with: I brush my hair. The verb to brush oneself is:
cepillarseNOTE: The 3rd person reflexive pronoun “SE” is attached to the AR/ER/IR infinitive ending to let you know that this is a reflexive verb.
To conjugate the verb in present tense, put the corresponding reflexive pronoun in front of the conjugated verb and add the regular endings after dropping the AR/ER/IR. BEWARE of Stem-changing Reflexive Verbs!
1. Get the “SE” out of the way.2. Conjugate the AR/ER/IR verb like always
(o, as/es, a/e, amos/emos/imos, áis/éis/ís, an/en) 3. Put the “SE” before the conjugated verb or
attached to the infinitive4. Make the “SE” agree with the Subject.
(me, te, se, nos, os, se)
Cepillarse (to brush oneself) Yo ME cepillo Nosotros NOS cepillamos Tú TE cepillas Vosotros OS cepilláis Él/Ella Ellos/Ellas Ud. SE cepilla Ustedes SE cepillan
