    Working with Emotional Intelligence

    Designed for team leaders and managers who want to improve on theirmanagement performance and effectiveness, this introductoryworkshop gives a broad overview of emotional intelligence as a basisfor improving personal development in leadership within the workplace.

    Situational leadership theories from organisational studies suggest thatdifferent leadership styles are better in different situations.

    Leaders must be flexible enough to adapt their style to the situationthey are in. A good situational leader is one who is not only aware oftheir style through awareness of their abilities and their limitations butcan quickly adapt their leadership style as the situation changes.

    This workshop is focused on learning more about self through thepractical application of a world-renowned personality and behaviouralassessment.

    Self-regulation or self control is the ability to control one's emotions,behaviour and desires. Authentic leaders are consistent with their selfawareness ensuring that their words and actions reflect their corepurpose and inner values so that their behaviour adapts accordingly.Through their ability for self control they appear genuine and engendercredibility in others.

    This workshop is focused on learning more about the ability to selectand regulate emotions to enhance authentic situational leadership styleswithin constantly changing situations.

    We will explore our leadership styles looking at what drives us, ourmotivators and those of others.

    We will learn about our emotional triggers and how we handle ouremotions effectively.

    We will understand how to manage change effectively and howothers can become involved more positively.

    We will look at ways in which conflict arises and how this can bemanaged.

    Understanding what motivates and drives individuals is fundamental toeffective leadership. However, motivation will change according tochanging circumstances, ambitions and influences.

    The culture of an organisation and the leadership styles will impactupon and influence levels of motivation.

    Empathy is the ability to identify and understand anothers situation,feelings and motives and the capacity to recognise the concerns thatother people have.

    Good levels of empathy allow effective leaders to create bonds of trustby giving insights into what others may be feeling or thinking. Empathyhelps with the understanding of how or why others react to situationsand helps inform for inclusive decisions.

    This workshop is focused on learning more about effective leadershipthrough developing and enhancing empathy.

    We will explore non verbal signals to gain information about other

    peoples emotions, feelings and behaviour.

    We will look at behavioural styles in-depth in order to developdeeper understanding of working preferences.

    Emotional Intelligence 4 Social Skills

    Good social skills are vital to enable leaders to communicate, relate andsocialise with others. They include both verbal and nonverbal forms ofcommunication.

    Effective leaders are able to determine the appropriate thing to say atthe appropriate time, being able to communicate in ways that areengaging and in a clear understandable manner. In a sense, the socialskills of a good leader are judged by what is said, when it is said andhow it is said.

    Leadership involves working with, and motivating, groups of peoplewhen building teams and by engaging individuals in the workplace. Thisinvolves both logical thinking and the appeal to reason, as well as

    seeking to engage their emotional desire by appealing to their corevalues.
