Royal Pose

Sitting on his throne, this pharaoh wears a hedjet, the crown of Upper

Egypt, and holds an ankh in one hand and a dog-headed scepter in

the other.

Double Crown

This illustration shows the double crown, which combined the red

crown of Lower Egypt and the white crown of Upper Egypt.

Worn by the pharaohs of the New Kingdom like Tutankhamun, the blue

crown was linked to the sun god.

Head-dress

The pharaohs’ striped head-dress was called the nemes cloth. It was

often worn with a ceremonial beard, a symbol of royalty.
