A candidate will be eligible for Admission to Postgraduate Courses if he/she has completedB.A./B.Sc./B.Com. with 10+2+3 system from any University recognized by University GrantsCommission and has secured a minimum 45% of marks* at graduate level. However for SC/STcandidates minimum pass percentage of marks will be 40%. For admission to LL.M. the minimumrequirement is 50% (48% for SC/ST) in LL.B. examination. * (Elligibility percentages of Marks may varyfor some courses, Candidates are advised to check their elligibility, before online application).

In the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, Law, Science and Fine Arts Post Graduate students for the Session2017 - 18 shall be admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted forthis purpose. Details are given in section 5 of the PG admission guidelines.

If the age of the candidates are same in such cases first preference will be given to the candidate whosecures higher percentage of marks at Class 12 examination.

If the marks secured in the Class 12 examination are same in such cases first preference will be given tothe candidate who secures higher percentage of marks at High School or equivalent examination.

In the Faculty of Arts the requirement of subject of study at graduate level for admission to varioussubjects (except Mathematics and Statistics) shall stand waived off in case of candidate havingobtained 55% or more marks at qualifying examination. Admission of such candidates in any subjectshall not exceed 10% of the total number of seats. The graduate of the Faculty of Arts will be eligible foradmission to M.A. I in Mathematics and Statistics. Science Graduates shall not be eligible for admissionto M.A. I in Mathematics and Statistics.

University reserves the right to cancel any admission at any stage.

5. In case of any matter relating to the Postgraduate Admissions, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor/Admission Committee, Lucknow University shall be final and binding.

5 Entrance Examination5.1 Admissions to the PG programs will be given on the basis of entrance test based on the UG syllabus

of Lucknow University. The details of the test (except for LL.B. three year and Faculty of Fine Arts)are given in section 5.2 of the UG admission guidelines. The entrance test details for LL.B. (threeyear) are given in section 5.4 while that for the faculty of Fine Arts are given in section 5.5 of this UGadmission guidelines.

5.2 The entrance test will be of two hour duration and will comprise of three segments. Candidates wouldhave to attempt the question in the serial order as given in question booklet.

5.3 The question paper wil be divided into three sections

5.3.1 Section A5.3.1.1 This section would comprise of five questions of 5 marks each.5.3.1.2 Candidates would have to answer all of them in not more than 50 words for each question.5.3.1.3 This section would account for a total of 25 marks.

5.3.2 Section B5.3.2.1 This section would comprise of three questions.5.3.2.2 Candidates would have to answer any two of them in not more than 150 words for each question.5.3.2.3 Each question will be divided into a minimum of two segments.5.3.2.4 Each question would be for 15 marks. Therefore this section would account for a total of 30 marks.5.3.3 Section C5.3.3.1 This section would comprise of two questions.5.3.3.2 Candidates would have to answer any one of them in not more than 300 words.5.3.3.3 Each question will be divided into a minimum of two segments.5.3.3.4 The question would be for 20 marks. Therefore this section would account for a total of 20 marks.

5.4 For LL.B. (Three Year) programThe entrance test will comprise of 100 multiple choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes.

5.4.1 Marking PatternEach question will be of 4 marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Zero mark willbe awarded for each un-attempted question.

5.5 Faculty of Fine ArtsMaster in Visual Art (MVA)Admissions to the MVA courses would be done on basis of entrance test details of which are as under

MVA entrance test will be divided in three parts

5.5.1 Practical Examination Object drawing (pencil and shade) time 2 hours

5.5.2 Written Examination The written test would be of two parts. First part will be short answer type

and second part will be long answer type. Second part will further have threedivisions, each of one of the departments of the faculty. An applicant has toanswer questions belonging to the same department in which he/she seeksadmission.

5.4.3 Interview The candidate has to bring a portfolio of his/her work and will be asked

questions by the interview panel.

6 ADDON PROGRAMS6.1 The Proficiency, Diploma, Advance Diploma and PG Diploma courses admissions would be provided

6.2 ADMISSION TO ADDON PROGRAMS6.2.1 Interested applicants falling under clause 6.1.1, 6.1.2, 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 of the PG Admission guideline

have to contact the concerned Head of the Department or Course Director/Coordinator to ensureavailability of seats and eligibility criterion.

6.2.2 Applicants to such programs have to show proof of admission/sponsorship/employment. Suchapplicants will not have to appear in the entrance test and will be admitted directly on therecommendation of the HOD.
