INTRODUCTION

• Conservation of fuel

• Increasing pollution

• Only 60% of the fuel is completely burned and the

remaining are wastage

• Reduce efficiency

• Formation of CO,Nox on atmosphere

FUEL STRUCTURE

• Hydrogen is the major constituent of hydrocarbon fuels

• Hydrogen has DIPOLE MOMENT

• Hydrogen can occur in two isometric forms-Para and Ortho.

• It is characterized by the opposite spins of nucleus.

Page 5: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

• The representation of para and ortho form is:

• Orthohydrogen is more reactive

Page 6: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

NORMAL HYDROCARBON

Page 7: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

WHY DOES INCOMPLETE

COMBUSTION OCCUR?

• Hydro carbons basically have a CAGE like

structure

• Less reactive para state

• Oxygen has 2 valence electrons and

hydrocarbons have neutral molecular

structure and hence they get repel each other

Page 8: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

METHODS TO

OVERCOME

• Hydro carbon molecule could better bind with

oxygen molecule then combustion goes on easily

• Changing the state of hydrogen molecule from

para state to more reactive ortho state.

WORKING

• MAGNETIZER is a device which ionizes the fuel

being fed through it.

• Molecules of hydrocarbon change their configuration.

• Inter molecular force reduced / depressed.

• Interlocks with oxygen

• Reduce exhaust emission

MAGNETS USED

• A neodymium magnet(also known as NdFeB,NIB)

is a type of rare earth magnet

• Permanent magnet made from alloy of

neodymium, iron and boron to form Nd2Fe14B.

• It is tetragonal crystalline structure.

• It is the strongest type of permanent magnet made

having magnetic field of 3000 gauss

Page 13: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

PERFORMANCE TEST

• Two-stroke Engine with spark ignition and capacity up to 5.5 hp

• Three accelerated rotation of the engine(3500,4500,5000)r.p.m,was taken

• Install magnetic device those have(2000,4000,6000,9000)Gauss.•

COMPARISON BETWEEN

CATALYTICCONVERTER

AND MAGNETIZER

CATALYTIC CONVERTER MAGNETIZER

Most catalytic converters require air pumps to initiate

catalysis

They don’t require air pumps.

Catalytic converters require a light-off temperature to be

attained before they become operative

Any temperature need not be attained

High cost Relatively cheaper

Cannot be transferred from vehicle to other one Can easily be transferred from vehicle to vehicle

Warranty is limited Lifetime

20 to 50,00 miles depending on the vehicle it is fitted on

Never wears out

Page 19: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

MERITS

• Increase fuel economy

• Reduced knocking and detonation

• Decrease smoke emission

• No fuel wastage

• Up to 20% of fuel saving

• Smooth running and long term

maintenance free engine

Page 20: Effect of magnetic field on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions

CONCLUSION

• Economically feasible

• Lowest possible level of toxic emission.

• Save the fuel up to 28%.

• Reduces the maintenance of vehicle.
