needs of inhabitants and sell to local markets.

Gem-cutting teaching centre where a hundred youth

have learnt to cut and polish semiprecious stones;

some have set up their own businesses, while others have found private employment.

Youth labour cooperatives which have won contracts

to help construct the Konkan railway.

Female income-generation projects making coir ropes

and brushes.

Assistance to set up small tailoring units, carpentry

units and shops.

Implements for earthwork , carpentry, masonry and painting buildings are also provided.

Almost all children attends school in India.

several states in order to promote sales.

Nagaraj, the son of Sri Lankan Tamil refugees A

Karuppaiah and Annakilli, who arrived in India from

Vavuniya in the early 1990s. Agaram Foundation

converting his real aspiration to become a doctor into

reality for him.

Ramanathan, who is now staying with his aged father

at the Trichy camp, works in a provision store. He is

now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
