ans: due to the diversity of culture and different socioeconomic background of ourstudents, there exist a gap between rural and urban area schools in terms of

proficiency, classroom readiness, and academic level. the teaching force is also taking a

more culturally-responsive pedagogy that response to a more varied scope of students;

students are more visual, rural students who are weak in maths, students who are

suffering from financial hardships and so on. multicultural education is an effort of

making education available to all children in the country regardless of race, religion and

language. therefore, as teachers, we should be aware of our classroom diversity

because basically students in the Malaysian classroom comes from all walks of life.

there is no single pedagogy that is suitable for any mixture of students in the

classroom. it is up to the teacher to adapt and cultivate more responsive pedagogy so

that the education in Malaysia can be more multicultural.
