The boy shook his head, “Nope, but that was what my Mom told my Dad, before she died to disease”. The Teacher lamented, the answer is right. The Cruise sank; the man went home and brought up their daughter single handedly. Many years later after the death of the man, their daughter found his diary while tidying his belongings. It turns out that when her parents went onto the Cruise Ship, the mother was already diagnosed with a terminal illness. At the critical moment, the father rushed to the only chance of survival. FROM OUR PASTOR, FR. ANTONY My Dearest Parishioners in Jesus Christ,

Greetings to you my dear Sisters and Brothers. The following story was sent to me by one of my friends. I found it very inspiring; hence I am sharing it with you.

He jumped before his wife to save himself from a sinking Cruise Ship. But the reality is priceless. A Cruise Ship met with an accident at sea. She got him to answer and he replied, “Teacher, I believe she would have shouted, take care of our child.” The teacher was surprised and asked him; have you heard this tory before? The boy shook his head, “Nope, but that was what my Mom told my Dad, before she died to disease”. The Teacher lamented, the answer is right.

The Cruise sank; the man went home and brought up their daughter single handedly. Many years later after the death of the man, their daughter found his diary while tidying his belongings. It turns out that when her parents went onto the Cruise Ship, the mother was already diagnosed with a terminal illness. At the critical moment, the father rushed to the only chance of survival.

FROM FR. ANTONY (continued)

He wrote in his diary, “How I wished to sink to the bottom of the ocean with you, but for the sake of our daughter, I can only let you lie forever below the sea alone.”

The story is finished, the class was silent. The Teacher knows that the student has understood. The moral of the story; that of the good and the evil in the world, there are many complications behind them, which are hard to understand, which is why we should never only focus on the surface and judge others without understanding them first. Those who like to pay the bill, do so not because they are loaded but because they value friendship above money. Those who take the initiative at work, do so not because they are stupid, but because they understand the concept of responsibility. Those who apologize first after a fight, do so not because they are wrong, but because they value the people around them. Those who are willing to help you, do so not because they owe you anything, but because they see you as a true friend. Those who often text you, do so not because they have nothing better to do, but because you are in their heart.

One day all of us will get separated from each other; we will miss our conversations of everything and nothing; the dreams that we had. Days will pass by, months, years, until this contact becomes rare…….

One day our children will see our pictures and ask; who are these people. And we will smile with invisible tears, because a heart is touched with a strong word and you will say; IT WAS THEM THAT I HAD THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE WITH.

With kindest regards, Fr. Antony Kolenchery

FROM OUR PASTORAL & YOUTH MINISTER MARGUERITE “Observe the birds of the air...” (and do not stress!) Matthew 6:26

I'm fascinated by birds, particularly falcons or hawks. They always seem to appear as I pray while driving in the country, even landing on a post or wire, as I pass by: Like affirmation. God hears my prayers. Jesus watched the birds too! He observes them in his teachings, saying we need not worry in life, and to trust in God. God teaches us so much through nature... Before his famous bird sanctuary was established, Jack Miner was out hunting geese. While retrieving a fallen bird, the bird's mate placed herself in Jack's path. She flapped her wings wildly, squawking at him, in desperate attempts to protect her fallen mate. Jack was deeply moved by her loyalty and self-sacrifice, and soon learned: Geese mate for life and team up as amazing parents. They fly in community V-formation, to help each other endure the long migration. The bird at the lead works hardest against the wind, so the rest squawk loudly to encourage or cheer it on. Then, in unison, they switch so every goose, (important and valued) shares, in leading the flock. If one becomes sick or injured, it's mate and at least one other goose remains with it – until it either recovers or dies. They never abandon their sick or injured. Sounds like a vibrant, caring community to me!

I will never forget or abandon my own... Isaiah 49 “Guillemot” birds flock by the thousands on crowded Arctic cliff areas. Females lay their eggs side by side, in long rows on one narrow ledge. The eggs all look alike, so it's incredible that a mother bird can identify her very own so well that, even if one is moved she finds and returns it to its original location. She is never confused. She knows her own.

Yet even if these forget, I will never forget my own... Holy Scripture says our Heavenly Father intimately understands each of His children. He knows their every thought and emotion, “acquainted with all their ways”. (Ps 139:3) From morning till night He gives personal attention to all their circumstances. The psalmist is pretty overwhelmed in this glorious reality and exclaims in excitement: “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it!” (v.6) God's care and knowledge of us brings comfort to our hearts.

We can say in complete confidence: “Jesus I trust in You”. Isn't it wonderful to be so well-loved and well-known by our Lord!
