Hey my name is Danyon and my name is Harri and im Mick we are going to show you a slide show about the Antarctica explorer Edmund Hillary.

Early LifeEdmund Hillary was born on 20th

July 1919 Auckland, New Zealand. His parents were Percival Hillary and Gertrude Hillary. Edmund Hillary was educated to Tuakua Primary School and then Auckland Grammar school. He finished primary school 2 years early but struggled in High School getting only average marks. After High school he married Louise Marry Rose and had 3 kids. He joined the air force in World War II and survived

Why is he famous?

He lead his party across Antarctica by tractor, He was the first person to get to the

peak of Mount Everest. He has a statue, His on the New Zealand five dollar note, He

has a Memorial there to.

• Louise Mary rose was Edmund Hillarys 1st wife. His seconded wife was June Mulgrew. His kids were peter Sarah Belinda

• Belinda and Louise died in a plane crash in 1975 near kathmandu

Edmund Hillarys first voyage was climbing Mount Everest

2ND VOYAGE

• Now world famous, Sir Edmund Hillary turned to Antarctic exploration and led the New Zealand section of the Trans-Antarctic expedition from 1955 to 1958. In 1958 he participated in the first mechanized expedition to the South Pole

Death

He Died on the 11th of January 2008

from a heart attack
