PARENT’S PRAISE

AMAZING JOURNEY OF OUR RICH INDIAN CULTURE

THE OCCASION- THE ANNUAL INDIAN MUSIC & DANCE CONCERT!

O n 8 Feb 2014, 10.15am…….. Saturday morning & scores of RBKIA parents were eagerly

waiting to grab prime seats in the auditorium. At 10.30am- everyone was in their seat!

Absolute quiet! The program started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by both the

Management Representative, Dr. Arundhdati Hoskeri and the Principal Mr. Edward Robinson.

Next was the welcome address by Dr. Arundhdati

Hoskeri. The program began an invocation to

Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge with the

rendition of songs such as Sharde Varde Mata ,

Mangaldata & Swagatam.

Now, it was the turn of the tiny tots to enthrall the

audience. They stole the hearts of the audience with

their innocent & sweet dance! Watching the youngest

members of the RBKIA family sway to tunes, Oh!

These innocent, fresh-faced tots on the stage-

everybody was clapping & cheering for them!

The Bihu

dance was true to its origin as was the vibrant

Bhumroo, both performed by the Kindergarten

children. The last performance by the KG students was

a Rajasthan folk dance. These children in their colorful

costumes & super performance transported one to the

sandy deserts of Rajasthan!

Now it was time for the Primary section to enthrall the

audience. Hum Bacche Hain by the Grade 1 was full of

the belief they had in themselves & was followed by

enthusiasm & passion by Grade 2 with their Hum

Bacche Hain Hindustan Ke . The little ones were not

done yet & the audience clapped their way through the Goan folk dance & Shaktiattam.

Thus the morn went by with swishes of vibrant, colorful costumes, pulsating music, superbly

co-ordinated dances & lots of enthusiasm shining on the faces of the children!

We were transported back & forth between various states of our country with dances like the

Koli, Garba, Dandiya, Dhanuchi, Bhangra&

Gondhal. There could not have been a better way

to end the Concert than the Ganpati dance! This

prompted some parents to break out into „Ganpati

Bappa Morya‟!

Kudos to the Dance & Music teachers & all the

staff who helped put together an amazing journey

of our rich Indian culture through their beautiful

choreography & apt selection of songs.

Take bow, dear teachers!

REFLECTION ON DR.GEETA BILLA’S SESSION WITH GRADE 6

O n 3rd Feb 2014, Dr Geeta Billa (parent of Varun

Billa, Grade 6) visited our school to share certain

relavant facts about Cells, Microorganisms and

the Organ systems.. During the lecture, she gave a good

insight on the various topics. The session was really

enlightening when she made it very interesting by

quoting real life experiences. She explained the Cell

structure, differences between plant cell and animal cell

and the „Theory of living, non-living and once lived

things‟ in detail. The difference between prokaryotic and

eukaryotic was also discussed by her. The session was

interactive and she answered all the questions raised by

us. In addition, she showed some informative slides on

various diseases caused by microorganisms. She also

explained how these diseases are caused, what are the symptoms and where are these diseases

more prevalent.

To sum up, Dr Billa‟s session was an enriching experience to the audience.

We, the students of Grade 6 are thankful to her for allotting some time from her hectic schedule

for the session,

A big thank you from all us, Madam! We look forward to such sessions!

DP STUDENTS SHOW UNITY ON A TRIP TO IMAGICA

O n 31st Jan 2014, students of DP1 and DP2 visited the Imagica Theme Park in Khapoli

as part of their CAS curriculum. We travelled there by bus, which took approximately 3

hours. Once we were there, we were separated in small manageable groups for the rides.

We collected our tickets and ran off to have some fun because we were eager to experience the

thrill of the rides. The first ride that we sat through was called “Nitro” (The fastest ride at

Imagica) We then proceeded to the „Scream Machine‟ and then the next one after that, working

our way slowly through the park. The park was not just roller coasters; there were some rides,

which were simply amazing, like the Rajasaurus ride, which had a climax that no one ever

expected. The students had lunch and snacks at their own time, keeping in mind that they could

not go on any other ride before their food was fully digested. Ms. Padmavathi Suresh and Mr.

Santosh Mandhare , who we managed to get onto some rides, after a lot of convincing, joined us.

Having been on all the rides and had our hearts content of taking photographs, shopping and

repeating the rides, we decided that it was time to call it a day. We enjoyed our trip to Imagica a

lot and look forward ever so eagerly to going back next year.
