Activity: Showcase Furniture
Start by drawing 2D text in the front viewport. Below I typed “Tutorial”. Then start a new text below that. I typed “Bone Yard”.
To resize each text use the Size under Parameters. Use the Move button on the toolbar to move each text.
Add an Extrude modifier from the Modifier List. Use the Amount parameter to pull out the 3D text

Create or select an object. > Quad menu > Transform quadrant > Convert To submenu >
Convert to Editable Poly
Create or select an object. > Modify panel > Right-click the base object in the stack. >
Choose Convert to: Editable Poly.

Extrude Used for push in and pull out the surface polygons
Bevel Beveling involves first extruding polygons and then scaling
the extruded polygons
Outline Lets you increase or decrease the outside edge of each contiguous group
of selected polygons. Outline is often used after an extrusion or bevel to adjust the size of the extruded faces.
Inset Performs a bevel with no height; that is, within the plane of the
polygon selection.
Press M on your keyboard and choose an empty slot. In a Material/Map browser choose Bitmap.
