*Troubleshooting Ideas for Mac Users! 1. Make sure that you have the most current version of Adobe Reader. It’s available here.2. Open your file finder and right click (or double click) on the file in your download folder.3. Choose OPEN WITH –> ADOBE READER.4. You may be prompted to choose Adobe Reader as your PDF reader in the future. To avoid problems in the future, click YES.

3. Download and save this PDF to your computer. Use that file to make your edits. If you try to edit before you download the file, you may not be able to see the editable fields.

4. Click on and type your text in the blue/gray boxes on each card. If you do not type words in the boxes, the games will print blank.

5. The words will auto size for you.

Ideas for Using the GamesWord Mazes:

p. 5 – Use for sight words. Type the featured sight word in the editable field at the top of the page. Make a clear path from start to finish by typing the sight word inside the circles. In the remaining circles, type incorrect spellings of the sight word. For example, if your learner is working on they, incorrect spellings could be thy, the, them, htey, thay, etc. Your learners should follow the correct spelling of they through the maze from start to finish.

p. 6 – Use for phonics words. Type a featured phonics word in the editable field at the top of the page. Make a path from start to finish by typing words that have the same vowel sound and/or vowel pattern. In the other circles, type other phonics words or sight words that don’t have that vowel sound. Example 1: If you type hat as your featured phonics word, other words that have the same vowel PATTERN could be bag, lap, or mat. Words that do NOT have the same sound could be dog, hit, or hot.Example 2: If you type eat as your featured phonics word, other words that have the same vowel SOUND (long e) could be bead, key, or Pete. With this example, you’re going for the same sound, not necessarily the same visual pattern.

Acorn BUMP!

For 2 Players: Roll two dice. Add up the numbers. Find the acorn on the board that matches the sum you rolled and read it. If you read it correctly, place an object on top of the word. The second player does the same thing, but can “bump” the other player’s object if he rolls the same sum and also reads the word correctly. Whoever has the most of their objects on the board after 10 minutes is the winner!
